German Bavarian Okoberfest Trachten Lederhosen Hamburg

looks expensive and high quality
Quality looks amazing and leather is super soft. One negative is it looks like some of the stitching in areas, might start coming undone, so I'm a bit concerned as to how they'll hold up after some heavy drinking. I'll update this review after I get to wear them a couple of times. (definite change to 5 stars if they can withstand a beating)Sizing can be tricky. I ordered 3 separate times. Good thing, it was very easy to exchange/return for full refund.... I'm 5'9 195lb and wear a size 35 jeans. The lederhosen size that fit best was 38.Another side note, if you have very muscular legs or a large ass possibly go two sizes up from your normal jean size (38 jeans get 42lederhosen) this might be a little loose but it's better than popping some stitching when you sit down.updated review : 11/21/19 - changed from 4 to 5 stars. 2 of my brothers ended up purchasing some we wore them 4 times and they're great. spilt plenty of beer on them and didn't discolor or damage the leather. I will say they do stretch a good amount, which I think that is why there is lining. To help prevent stretching but I'm going to cut mine out. I suggest for sizing buying 2 pair and return one.so updated summary out of 3 pairs to gage from, amazing quality for the money!!!

Nicely Made, Quality Materials
Bought this to wear to Oktoberfest in Munich and Canstatter Volksfest in Stuttgart. They fit well, with plenty of adjustability for places where I'm a little fat. They were very comfortable, both walking and sitting. They easily shrugged off some minor beer spills without staining. Will probably wear these again in 2024.

Great value. Very comfortable. Awesome looking.
Great quality for the price. I did not experience any issues with stitching as some previous reviewers had mentioned, but time will tell how these hold up to the wear and tear of "festing." These are a much softer leather compared to some of the other cheaper Lederhosen options that are available on Amazon. I believe these are fully worth the additional price (I had a few friends purchase the cheaper versions prior to our last festival outing so I have compared side by side). I expect to be wearing these bundhosen for years to come. Outside of dropping $300-500 on an authentic pair of German lederhosen, you aren't going to do much better than these. These do run very small. I normally wear a 36" waist and ended up going with the 40 in these. I originally ordered the 38, but returned and exchanged for the 40 after trying them on since I wanted some extra room to breathe (and will likely always be eating and drinking when wearing these). The return/exchange process was also a total breeze.

Runs small. Very small
Order at least 1 size up maybe 2 sizes up. Fits tight on leg muscles. Lamb leather is very soft. Looks and feels good.

The genuine article
I have owned the Lederhosen4U Hamburg model for many years now and they have seen 5 Oktoberfests in München. They have worn well, and are soft and pliant. I have actually had locals compliment me on my Lederhosen!Tip: Yes, size up. One has to consider not only waist size but hip size also.Tip: Practice working the horn buttons through the leather BEFORE you’re standing at the urinal. Even then give yourself a few extra minutes.Tip: If you’re tall like me these Bundhosen are preferable to the shorter Lederhosen and come to knee length.Tip. You may find the braces too short. I solved this with a pair of guitar strap extenders in the back. A game changer.Tip: Splurge on some chari-vari to decorate your new Lederhosen.Prost!

Nice but there are some details to consider.
The first pair that we are in the middle of trying to return, were too small in the butt. If you wear one size normally but have a bigger butt, I would order 1 to 2 sizes bigger (we went with 2 sizes bigger due to a quicker shipping at the time). The leather, while soft, is also fragile. While trying them on at a somewhat tighter fit, it tore the leather slightly at the corners of the pockets. The seams are in fact not sewn well as others have mentioned. Both pairs we bought had this issue. However, we bought them anyway with the intention of going back over the seams. The lining is soft but we would have preferred it not have one. I am unsure if it is a natural fibre or not, but it takes away from the point of wearing leather pants for any reason other than show in my opinion, particularly with such a soft and thin leather. Shearling would have been neat though, and would have added a little stability to the leather. The suspenders are large and fall down, and the tiny loop that is intended to hold them together in the back is lacking in strength and gerth, which seems to be partially why they fall. Regardless, we like them. Overall they are good pants, and we went with these ones because the reviews indicated a consistency of knowing what to expect that others did not even if it was flawed. The type of leather also meant they were less likely to get stiff and shrunken in the event of a mistake in care.

Trash
Bought these for Oktoberfest and the quality seemed decent enough at first. In the first ten minutes of the quarter mile walk from our rental to the festival, the stitching in the crotch all pulled out and the two sides split from the top of the front flap to the top of the waistband in the back. The only thing holding the right and left sides together was the waistband. These things didn’t even last until the drinking began! Absolute garbage, stay away.

So far, I am pleased!
I'll admit - I was a little nervous dropping over a hundred bucks for this item, with the risk of it being cheaply made, or it won't fit. But, I went for it after reading all of the reviews from past buyers. I bought a size bigger than my jean size. I don't have a Dad-Bod....it's a Father Figure...I wear 38 in jeans, so 40 seemed logical. It arrived unharmed, and not the greatest packaging, but it's old school leather overalls....and if you read the history on Lederhosen, men never washed them...ever. So I wasn't even concerned with that! Anyway, the stitching and durability is still to be tested. I'll be traveling to the motherland this September to celebrate Oktoberfest properly so I'll update this review after. As for now, it really does look like quality work. It's soft leather, nice designs, and it looks exactly as advertised. So far, I am pleased!
