The first photo shows how muddy the gaiters got when I first wore them & the second shows that the mud did not make it past the edges of the gaiters. Other reviewers have complained about the strap length - I can only think they had the wrong size/did not hook the gaiter low enough onto the boot. Measure your ankle circumference over your trousers & check the size chart. I’m 5’10” & my calves are quite slim - I thought I’d be a M but the chart said L. The gaiters were a little loose on the leg but the elastic adjuster at the top pulled them in enough & the strap was plenty long enough.They’ll need a good hose down & scrub but the fabric is sturdy enough to take it.

It’s easy to put on and off. It’s waterproof and very practical and keeps the mud off. The only problem is the stitches start coming off!

Great gaitors - properly tested out on a 4 day hike in Scottish wilderness up and down rocky mountain paths, mud, bush, wetlands, rain etc. performed very well - kept my socks/legs dry and protected them from thorns, ticks etc. Was wearing shorts most of the time too!So as not to rip any material or the buckles - Take your time working out how to put them on and as other reviews seem to suggest, take your time putting them on or taking them off each time - you'll get quicker doing this + won't break anything that way.Pretty easy to wash afterwards too, just hose them down and give a bit of a brush. They dry pretty quickly with a bit of sunshine.Size-wise my wife found them too long and/or narrow for her legs, she ended up getting a pair from Mountain Warehouse instead that fitted much better. I'm a tall, thin bloke so Large size was great for me.

The gaiter is great quality and my wife has some that fit her well. I bought a pair but unfortunately I had to return them. As is mentioned in other reviews the straps that go under the boots are far too short for the larger sizes. I suspect the straps are the same length regardless of the gaiter size. There was no way I could fit the straps around my boots. Shame because otherwise they appear to be a great product.

Well made, good value, keeps legs and trousers dry

These are lovely gaiters that are comfortable to wear and fairly easy to put on. They kept my legs clean and dry. However, despite ordering the largest size they only just fitted me (female, 6ft, large but not massive calves!) so the velcro was only just managing to attach to itself. They did not undo but I didn't feel confident wearing them in all situations.
