It definitely helps but hasn’t stopped our Mr Peabody.
The scent is like a hint of cinnamon. Not strong at all. It does come unscented also. I have been cleaning with this for several weeks as one of our male cats (fixed) sprays all over. I clean up spots with a spray bottle and mop the floor with it and the walls half way up (unless he sprays from the top of the cat tree). It does remove the urine smell but our little brat keeps on spraying. Certain areas where he always sprayed have stopped, but he still continues elsewhere. This was recommended to us by 2 different people, one being our veterinarian.

Photo? I Received Real Stuff...Plus My Tips On Using
With all of the great reviews for Anti Icky-Poo I doubt if I need to add yet another. These stuff DOES works so don't waste your money buying something else. The reason I am leaving this review is so you'll know that what is pictured is confusing...and some things I've learned about using the product. First off just so you know I ordered this exact 2 gallon set (not my first!) 2 weeks ago and received the genuine marked gallons that are pictured elsewhere. I did not receive some knock-off, which one wonders about when looking at the photo. I have used this product before so know that it matches, not just the outside of the bottle but the contents. The actual Anti Icky-Poo folks have great customer service so why not order from them? They offer great deals and I think there's a 4 gallon set too. In fact if you intend to use a garden type pump sprayer to cover a couple of rooms just in case your black-light missed something, you won't regret having enough to do the lower part of walls and maybe even some furniture, doors, etc.... Cats like to spray about a foot up from the floor so you should too if you are dealing with cats. When doing the wall let the product run down the wall into the baseboards. You don't need to wipe it off. When spraying carpet with a sprayer move the wand back and forth like watering your lawn. When done walk on it with all of your weight squeezing the product down into the padding. For specific carpeted areas your black-light may pick up think about using the carpet injector, then spray, then stand. Remember that not all black-lights are created equal. When in doubt just spray everything. Also note, and I called customer service about this, the day after you spray, when the product is working, the odor CAN get worse (not always). Just wanted you to know that the odor is a good thing and means that the end is near. After a day, or maybe 2 if it was really bad, the odor miraculously goes away.

Remove Cat urine smell? No way!!
I had 2 female hymalayans(sisters)one of them got a UTI and was urinating on the carpet. Unfortuneatly, we didn't realize it until we started smelling it. The carpet throughout the house was a pale gold so we couldn't see it. Like so many other people have written, I tried everything imaginable. I added additional litter boxes, cleaning and washing them everyday. I put her in a seperate room as instructed, changed litter brand with no scent. I of course was treating her UTI. I was overwhelmed. I found out also that the sister cat claimed dominance over her and when the one cat wanted to use the litter box, the sister wouldn't let her. She couldn't even get near her food when the other one was around. Infact, I even got in contact with the American Cat Association for help. As for cleaning, I tried all sorts of products and had professional cleaning done. The American Cat Association also recommended Anti Icky Poo. So after researching this product and it's reviews, I figured why not. Not all reviews were possitive but I was desperate. I spent $300.00 on this product and followed not only the written instructions but also from talking directly to a represetative from the product's company. It didn't work. I figured it was because there was so much and it was a long time before we begin to smell it. I had to get new carpeting throughout the house and of course I gave the cat to a very loving home. This all took place over a year's time. I finally felt relieved. Two months after the new carpet, the other cat got a UTI. I noticed it within 2 days. She was going in a room that we are seldom in under the furniture. I immediately used the leftover Anti Icky Poo. I ordered 2 more gallans and have been applying it and following the instructions again. Even with the new carpet and discovering the urine while still wet, it still didn't remove the smell. It removes stains, but not cat urine smell. Great product for stains and ordinary odors. As for cat urine order "NO WAY" If anyone knows how to rid the smell, please come forward....

The best invention EVER
I cannot praise this product enough. It works so well I don't understand how anybody could use anything else. The bacteria and enzymes work together to break down and digest the urine into inert compounds that have no negative effects and are undetectable. It makes sense to use a product like this that actually changes the chemical composition of the offending substance rather than cover it up. Other products claim to be "enzyme cleaners" however they do not contain the bacteria that actually fully digest what the enzymes have created to render compounds that are essentially like water. They just came out with an unscented version, which I would recommend since any fragrance is usually not a good idea. You may notice an increase in odor after first applying it, but that's the indication that the enzymes and bacteria are doing their job. It needs to get worse before it gets better. Just keep treating the area every couple hours the first few days, and you'll be amazed that the smell will disappear, never to return (even on those hot summer days that bring out the worst smells in everything!) If you have more than one cat, a cat and another animal, a male cat, or just a cat that grew up around cats and learned to behave like a cat, you need this product. It's not that they are being "bad", they are just being cats. It's just the same as us buying a house and saying "This is mine". We get a deed, they "renew" their deed by marking what's theirs. However, I would recommend Feliway Pheromone diffusers to keep the "happy signals" in the air, and you won't have to use quite as much of the Anti Icky Poo. Just love your kitty and learn to live together and respect each other. It's worth it :)
