Little Red Train: Busy Day

Wonderful illustrations with a good story for young engine lovers!
My grandchild wants to hear it again and again - and again, as with all loved books. With this book there is a bonus for the adult as the pictures are so detailed there is something to look at to stop you falling asleep when reading it for the nth time.

Absolutely the best book for my 2 1/2 year old
This book goes everywhere with Philip. He had it read to him 8 times the first day! Great illustrations with plenty of trucks, trains and maps

Bears endless repetition
I have to confess that on about the 145th reading, I did wonder, if the ultimate destination that day is Barnacle Bay, where everyone has a wonderful afternoon on the beach, why does Duffy Driver leave his wife at home? Maybe she had a book club. Or maybe she can't be in the sun. Anyway, I'm not about to torture myself (or my son) with worries about whether I'm subtly ingraining him with sexism. The pictures are wonderful, the narrative is bucolic, relaxed and yet engaging, and both my children have loved reading Benedict Blathwayt stories for years.

Greatest artwork ever
The Little Red Train books are all a delight to read and especially to look at. You could get lost in the artwork on each page...so much going on. As delightful for me to look at as it is for my grandchild. We have these stories in several versions including the pop up and I've read them over and over. We never get tired of them.
