Grovana is a firm that has made a name for itself in the Swiss watch making industry through innovation and flexibility. Up to the 1970s it made mechanical watches that were always state of the art. For decades the Swiss watch industry has been renowned all over the world for the quality and accuracy of its products. Grovana began to move into new markets as early as the 1970s. This led to a collection being presented that met the requirements of the different markets and made the Grovana brand name successful. Thanks to this flexibility Grovana weathered the crises in the Swiss watch industry very well, a time when many companies were forced out of business. Grovana was one of the first Swiss watch manufacturers to start making analog quartz watches. This technological know-how enabled Grovana to open up new markets. As early as 1982 80% of Grovana's output consisted of analog quartz watches. Grovana has carefully targeted the further expansion called for new investments. Appropriate measures had to be taken in the form of constant increases in production to satisfy the demand for Grovana watches on the world market. That is why the manufacturing and administrative divisions in Tenniken were extended in 1986. Work is currently in progress on a further capacity increase. In recent years Grovana has achieved annual sales increases of between 5% and 15%. This is attributable to two factors: firstly, the further extension of existing markets and, secondly, the political changes in Central and Eastern Europe. Grovana has been able to open up significant new markets in the Baltic States, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania. Today Grovana exports to more than 80 countries and presents its collection every year at numerous European and overseas trade fairs. In future the company's supreme objective will still be to produce high-quality, technically excellent Swiss watches. An attractive collection of Swiss Made watches is to be made available to the worldwide clientele, enabling Grovana to meet the different requirements of the local markets.A new building wing came into service in January 2000. The work preparation process can be optimised as a result of the extension. The entire components warehouse was brought together in this new building and at the same time new forwarding unit was put into operation. This means all work process connected with watch manufacture are now more optimally organized. Special attention was also paid to the repair service. New, clearly laid out warehouse facilities make it possible to quickly assemble spare parts for our agents. This means Grovana can continue to guarantee that our spare parts can be despatched to the agents within 48 hours. New production facility was taken into operation to be used exclusively for the production of REVUE THOMMEN manufacture movements. The Grovana Company will continue to make further substantial investments in the existing buildings over the next few years. Grovana is convinced that in this way we will be able to enter the next millennium confidently. This business policy will further strengthen the sales markets and also bring much pleasure to the owner of Grovana watches in future.

Several Issues
Looks nice, feels nice, but is 4 to 5 min. off a day. Also, bought it from Perfect Timing. No stamped/signed guarantee card in box. Watch also looks slightly different (crown is without the stamp you can see in the pic, same is true for bracelet). No booklet or manual in box.I kept it anyway longer than 30 days, as I really liked it. But the time keeping is bugging me too much, so I think this is a case of warranty (2 y). If Perfect Timing asks for the not delivered warranty card, I'll update this posting accordingly.

Grovana Diver
A great Swiss watch, with ETA movement, saphire crystal, scew down crown and caseback. The oyster bracelett is 22mm and oyster, date window superb. Great value, especially for the money, looks better than my Rolex Sub.

Phenomenal Diver; Excellent Value
This is a high quality 300m dive watch. (As with all divers, for safety, regardless WHO makes them, have them depth tested and certified BEFORE diving with it, and have it retested at least every two years!). Dial is flat black without glare with prominent indices and hands; extremely legible. Uni-directional bezel rotates very smoothly in half-minute increments (120 detents). Bracelet is very well made with solid links and solid end links, with a very good dive extension tucked into the clasp, and it's very comfortable on the skin (no digging or hair pulling).Bracelet Note:Grovana changed the link pins at some point. Earlier ones have screws and later ones have a solid pin with friction sleeve in the middle. For the latter type, unless you've dealt with them, recommend a qualified jeweler doing the sizing as it's extremely easy to lose the very small sleeve in the center of the link as you pull it apart . . . plus driving the pin out without damaging the cylindrical sleeve requires a drift tool with diameter smaller than the sleeve. This is similar to the pin and sleeve found on newer Rado DiaStar Originals (not the vintage with NSA bracelets).Obviously an "homage" patterned after a very well-known luxury brand, this one is actually several millimeters larger in diameter with less cluttered dial that's flat black (no glare). Lume is not the brightest I've seen but still good. The blue bezel visually softens the watch compared to a black bezel, but it's not a distracting bright blue. Sapphire crystal is solid and the cyclops makes the date more readable for my aged eyes. Movement inside is the ETA 2824-2 workhorse. Screw-down crown works smoothly. I don't believe Grovana is using the Sellita SW-200 as of this review. If they have resorted to Sellita with the ETA reducing volumes to companies outside the Swatch Group, it's just as good. The tell will be a Sellita has 26 jewels and the ETA 25j. IMHO anyone making a distinction between the two Swiss Made movements which are very nearly identical twins of each other needs OCD treatment (Sellita was a contract mfr. for ETA making 2824-2's ). In short, I don't care which movement is inside mine and certainly cannot tell from the outside.Build quality -- fit and finish -- is excellent all around. I was very, very pleasantly surprised when I unboxed the watch and pulled the protective plastic off. Truly well done. It's in the same class as the equivalent models from MarcelloC and Steinhart (German micro-brand NOT to be confused with Steinhausen) and an excellent value in a fine mechanical made with excellent materials and movement.

Doesn't Keep Time
Unfortunately, as a timepiece, the quality is not there. Every 3-5 days the watch is off by 5 minutes and needs to be reset. It is basically an expensive bracelet. UPDATE 9/17 - the watch stopped working after 2 months.

Overpriced Rolex Submariner look-alike. Worth maybe $200-$300, not $1,400.
The saying, "You get what you pay for" describes this watch very well. It is certainly a decent watch and feels nice and durable but timepieces aren't expensive based on their weight, they're expensive because of PRECISION and reliability; something this watch lacks. It is clearly a cheap Rolex Submariner look-alike but that's where the similarities end. This watch was slow by over 5 minutes PER DAY, compared with an authentic Rolex which is required to be accurate to within 5-seconds or less PER DAY. 5 seconds vs 5 minutes: huge difference. All of that said, if this watch were more reasonably priced based on its worth, maybe $200 or so, it would be well worth the money, however, it is outrageously overpriced at $1,395.00. If you insist on buying one of these, wait for a sale or something; Amazon just had this watch on sale for Prime Day 2016 at a greatly reduced price of $349.99 for Prime members.

Great Watch
I purchased this as part of Prime Day on July 12, 2016. I've only been wearing it a few days. The watch was delivered in a white box as advertised with all of the plastic protective coverings on it. I removed the plastic coverings and took it to a jeweler to get the band sized. I've worn it from about 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. each day. At the end of the second full day it's about 10-15 seconds fast. My jeweler said that anything under 30 seconds a day is fine for an automatic (if you need perfect, get out your phone). The watch looks fantastic. Cutting to the chase, this watch is a near replica of a very popular watch by a famous maker. The night after I purchased this, but before it arrived, I went to dinner with someone who was wearing the real thing. If you buy this watch you have to decide whether you wish to answer that question, "Is that a ...?". I decided that I like it well enough that I don't care if people ask. Besides, it will be great to wear this for a few years to decide whether I ever want the real thing.Update:At the conclusion of a recent business meeting I had someone ask me if I was wearing an Omega. This is a great looking watch. The guy looked a little disappointed when I told him it was a Swiss made knock-off.

Grovana Herrenarmbanduhr Diver Automatic 1571.2135
