A must read for Sociology enthusiasts!
This is a very nice book on sociology by Mr. Francis. Yeah the first 1-2 Chapters were a bit more difficult and the language was a bit too clumsy, but then on the others chapters are really easy to understand and are focused right on topic without deviating! Now coming to packaging, it was bit too tight for the book and was delivered on time and also the page color is really white and is the latest edition shipped to me :), the price is quite low when compared to other online vendors!

Good to read, with caveats
This is, a lucidly written and enjoyable book, which lays out the preliminaries of sociology. However it is remarkable how often Western academics are quoted throughout the book- almost every second sentence reads: "Max Weber said....", or "Emile Durkheim said...". I didn't buy this book to know what Max Weber and Emile Durkheim said, I want to know what M. FRANCIS ABRAHAM has to say. There are also, quite incredibly, niggling spelling errors throughout the book. Also, most importantly, the author does not discuss what impact the INTERNET will have on Indian society (the book is old and was written long before Jio launched), though the net is mentioned in passing here and there. So read it if you must, but be aware of what I have pointed out above.

Great for 11th and 12 grade school level of sociology
Language and quality of book is great. Just that the depth is kind of missing.
