Home Depot 18-piece Tool Box

We purchased this tool box for our almost three year old son. He really loves to help his daddy work on things around the house and loves to play with daddy's tools. We were very concerned that he was going to get hurt, especially with the tape measure - his favorite tool to play with. I didn't realize how hard it would be to find a child's tape measure that looked as realistic as the one his dad uses. I found a couple that would probably work but when I saw the price of buying them individually versus the price of buying this tool box that contained one, I chose to purchase this instead and see what happened. This tool box contained a hammer, saw, pliers, screwdriver, nails, bolts, nuts and the all important tape measure. All of these items were plastic. We have had this item for about a week now and my son seems to always have some sort of a tool or another in his hand. He loves this set. He has been very hard on the hammer and I have to say that it is holding up pretty good for the abuse that it is taking. The tape measure gets the most use and he figured out right away how to wind it up and we haven't had any problems. The tool box has quite a bit of "extra" storage in case you want to expand your tool selection. My husband took some of the small plastic containers that had contained nails and such and have the picture on the front and put them in my son's toolbox (they were empty at the time) and my son loves them and is constantly putting things in those little containers and working on things around the house. For the $20 we spent on this took box I think it was a good buy.

Perfect gift for a 18-36 month child! I scoured reviews for months before deciding on this kit - though I admit that I was hesitant to get him anything "branded." This has great reviews for a reason - it's WONDERFUL. It gets tons of use and stands up to abuse. I'd recommend picking up a different tape measure, but the rest of the components are great. This is a steal for the price compared to the quality, or lack there of, in the competition. Since purchasing for my son, I've ordered this several times as a present.

I'm not sure what the age recommendation on this is. But I would say it's for kids at least 4. I got it for my son on his 5th birthday and we've had to get rid of a few of the tools. The pliers came apart, and although they snapped back together, my boys wanted to take them apart and use them to spear things. They are a bit sharp that way. The screw drivers also can be used as weapons in the hands of young boys. But they continue to play with them. They especially like the box and I appreciate somewhere to keep all the tools together.

My husband had seen them in the store he hasd thought but when I went to Home Depot they did not have thema dnnobody knew if they ever had them....We have 2, three year old grands and he wanted them for their Christmas....The girl helping me at Home depot went and looked on the computer to see if they were besold anywhere else. Amazon was the first place that came up and I ordered right there in the store from Amazon....Free shipping with my Prime too. He was very pleased with them and the girls love them. I would recomend them for both girls and boys of preschool age.

Whenever there is anything that needs fixing, 3-year-old Aaron runs and gets his toolbox. He loves it! He loves the little fake piece of wood that comes in it, and he practices screwing and nailing into it. A cool toy that they will not get tired of once it is not a new toy. When Daddy is working in the garage, Aaron gets his tool box so that he can "help". SO CUTE! Learning to be a little man. People commented that the box is flimsy. Well, it's not Rubbermaid or anything, but it's fine. It's held up for us for 2 months so far...

This is such a fun tool kit for kids. My kids keep this with dad's tools so when he is fixing things they can fix right along with him. I have had it for over a year and it is all still in great condition. The only think I don't like about this is the lid has a hard time staying clipped on. These tools have provided many hours of enjoyment to my kids.

I got this little tool set as a gift for my nephew. He LOVES it. Typically he stops playing with a toy after a few days, but I've found this one is still his "go-to" entertainment after 2 months!!!As a two-year old, he enjoys playing the with screws, the screw drivers, etc. The toolbox makes for perfect storage after playtime is over.

Good toy tool set. My 2yo LOVES them! (In fact, he loves them too much! He banged some nice dents in our drywall with the hammer!😁) The quality seems good and the toolbox is large enough to fit other toy tools your child may have. All the edges are blunt so I feel pretty safe with my son using them, but they do still have property-destroying power!😉
