Q: How do you keep it from falling over in the closet?

Q: How long is it, and how wide?

23" long x 10" wide. Depending on what kind of boots you put on here and how you set it up, it could end up being a bit wider. The photo shows the boots all going the same direction, but I set mine up so the middle pair goes the opposite way to provide a bit more stability; this may make it a few inches wider. This boot organizer is great, it takes up less space than sliding shapers in my boots to keep them from falling over and it takes less room to store!

Q: What is the distance between the slats? I want to use this for rain boots and they are bulky. I am concerned that the boots might not fit.

While not taking specific measurements, I find that the spacing is quite sufficient for my dress boots. Not sure if bulkier snow boots would fit, but I would think that rain boots would. You can adjust the spacing, also. The slats just slide on for assembly. Remember you can alternate the slats so the boots face front-back-front-back for more even weight distribution. Otherwise, especially with heavier-soled boots, the rack will tip over because it leans to the front too much.

Hi, the middle bar is kind of a metal plastic bar and the boot holders are plastic, but strong plastic. I have boots that are knee high and they fit very nicely on them and it supports the weight of all 3 pairs of boots. I found another one on line & ordered it & just recieved it the other day. Now I have 2 of them & I think they work great for womens boots!!
