Excellent for the price
One thing to keep in mind is that this is not an OEM part, but works just as good with some minor modifications. For Kawasaki Ninja 500 I needed to get a smaller vacuum and fuel lines(both were quite cheap at auto parts store). Took a bit of elbow grease to fit the fuel line onto the carb. Also, re-routed the fuel line to go in front of the carburetor, since the lines are swapped. But aside from these two minor adjustments this petcock works really well and costs only 1/10th of the original part - I'll take that any day. Really happy with the product.

Only fits with modifications a ninja 500
It says it fits a Ninja 500 but it does not fit right. First, you have to buy a longer fuel hose for the Ex500 because the original one does not reach the gas outlet on this pet cock since it is located on the opposite side of the original one which is not a big deal but the real problem is that you can only position it on the on or reserve position because the turning knob is too close to the tank and it wont move to prime. So item is not described right. It is inexpensive and works but they should not list the ninja 500 as fitment for this part. I wish I could get my money back but already installed.

Beware! Doesn't fit advertised models
Advertised models are based on which bikes have vaccum petcocks, not physical fitmentGot this for my Ex500 and while it screws on the tank there are a lot more issues:1) fuel hoses don't fit, stock is 8mm diameter, the petcock is 6mm, can't use a hose clamp either, you gotta get a 1/4 in hose, reducer barb, and clamps2) vaccum hose is loose, stock is 6mm this is 5ish mm3) petcock barely hits frame when put on the bike, it's a really tight fit4) petcock ports are in the wrong direction, not a big deal until you realize attaching the fuel hose makes it touch the hot engine5) selector hits the gas tank, I can't get it to prime because the bottom of the gas tank blocks the selectorThis is all before considering how a smaller fuel port would effect the flow rate of gas to your bikeIt works, but don't trust the advertised models for fitment. If you want to buy this triple check it fits your specific bike

Primary works if you can twist it there
Primary works but you could not twist it up to primary on my bike so I hack-sawed the knob and loosed the outside screws a quarter turn so I can twist it without pliers. now it works but reserve it a very very slow leak not a flow so it doesn't really work maybe in a jam it might. For the price it worked with effort on my bike 1982 xs400r

This description is completely wrong
This petcock does not fit a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 250r. It wont fit any Ninja 250r made in 2007 or before, to make it work I unfortunately had to install this backwards and cut down the switch with a dremel. I was in a pinch. But I was definitely screwed over by the seller here so DONT get it.

Not the correct design.
Fits in the tank and bolts up fine but the hose connections are at a slightly different angle and I could not get the hoses connected.
