These are the best kids mittens ever. I say this as a parent of a 2.5 year old and a ski instructor. As has been noted elsewhere, they are not the most insulated mittens available, and they are not adequate on their own for serious cold (I would say in the low 20's and lower, depending on activity level and duration of exposure). HOWEVER... the biggest problem with every other kids glove or mitten is that kids can't keep their hands out of the snow, and very quickly all of them get wet. As soon as they are wet, they get cold, no matter how well insulated they are. These mittens are completely waterproof. Not sort of, kind of. Completely. They're made of some kind of a rubber material, and it's awesome. It's pliable and grippy. And waterproof. The gauntlet is huge and goes up to their elbows so they stay on. They look kind of funny when you first see them, but when you use them, their genius is revealed. If they made adult sizes, I'd buy a pair for myself.They are a little long in the fingers. But it doesn't really affect their usability for a 2 year old, and he'll be able to wear them for a few seasons. The wrist strap is excessively long, and so after adjusting it to fit my son I just cut some of the tail off and taped it down so it isn't flapping around. If there were room for improvement anywhere it would be here. The snap is a bit fiddly to get closed on a squirmy kid. But it's not a big deal.If the manufacturer is listening, if they made a version with more insulation, I think it would be a hit as well. This version is great because kids can pick stuff up easily with it, but, again, if it's seriously cold, you need a liner under it. A thicker version would lose some dexterity, but would extend their usefulness down to 0.The bottom line is, if you have kids that play outside in the winter, you NEED these mittens. They're outstanding.

These are amazing. We put a pair of warmer stretchy gloves on underneath them if it's going to be very cold (like sledding or skiing) but otherwise, these are warm enough and they are WATERPROOF. Like, seriously waterproof. We are well into our second year with them (not season, these are great for the spring and fall and any time your slightly squeamish child wants to pick up a worm in the summer.Can't say enough good stuff about Abeko. I'm not sure why Amazon is no longer carrying their rain sets (coat and dungarees) because we would buy another one in a heartbeat. Stocking up on these before they run out too.

We put these to the rest and These are great for all seasons!! In the winter I just put a knit pair of snug mittens underneath and they are good to go. They wash easily in the washer/dryer. I am an early childhood educator at a school which is more than half the year outside all the time (in CT) and after seeing and trying so many expensive mittens these are my favorite. Can't recommend them enough.

They have been great for my 4 year old son. He goes to Waldorf Forest Kindergarten and are outside a lot. His hand stay warm and dry. I wish I found these in November, but glad we have them. They are excellent and I would like a pair for myself!!!

This is the second pair we’ve bought. Shipping is way faster then expected. My lil one loves these. We live in a temperate rainforest, it’s cold and wet. We haven’t had to put in a second layer yet, in the winter. Definitely worth it.

These are great! We live in the pacific NW and waterproof gloves are a must. On really cold days I put wool mittens on my son underneath these and it works great.

These mittens are incredibly durable and soft on the inside. They seem a bit small for a normal 5-8 year old, but my son has small hands and they will fit him perfectly. I highly recommend this seller as the mittens were received exactly a week after ordering - from Ireland, nonetheless!

These keep my sons hands warm and dry. My only complaint is that the elastic isn't overly stretchy, it ends up too loose with a single wrap around his wrist and too tight with a double. This has resulted in difficulty with keeping the gloves on.
