24 Ounce Premium Whole Brown Mustard Seed, 1.5 Pound Bulk Seeds

I used these mustard seeds for my water bath canning projects, and I am pleased with the quality and flavor! It’s nice to be able to get them in a larger quantity like this as well.

I don't know about the quality here or if you could grow a tree with these, or make good mustard, but what I got these for was for the high myrosinase content of brown mustard seeds. This is the enzyme that breaks down the glucoraphanin found in broccoli, converting it to that oh so healthy sulforaphane people are talking about. So I ground up some of these seeds, put them in capsules and take them with a broccoli smoothie or broccoli extract, or both.

Quality is superb

I have purchased the yellow mustard seed before, saw the brown mustard seed for the first time. Decided to try it, it smells really good. Cannot wait until canning season to see if it improves mt picked okra.

Great product, very hot, will take your breath away like a fresh ground horseradish. If you want to dip sesame chicken in this and don't mind crying and a runny nose, this is your product.

The product itself seemed ok although I won’t be using it. It was placed in an padded envelope for shipping. When it arrived I noticed it was really noisy. Upon opening it it was clear that it had been smashed at some point spilling all the mustard seed into the envelope along with tiny pieces of plastic from the container. I tried reporting it but the product is not eligible for returns and apparently there isn’t an easy way to report it was damaged in shipping. So unless someone reads this and steps up to fix this I would not recommend anyone purchase it
