Practical applications for Kukki Taekwondo forms
This book presents applications to all the official Kukki Taekwondo(= national Taekwondo) poomsae as defined by the Kukkiwon. The book is divided into three parts, where The first part concentrates on basic techniques found in the Taegeuk series, and practical applications to those. The second part conentrates on the first five black belt forms, and is mostly focusing on more advanced applications of the same techniques as in the first part. The last part deals with advanced applications to the high level techniques found in the remaining four black belt poomsae. The book also contains a training program for training Kukki taekwondo in a practical an efficient way for real combat, as opposed to sport, and various drills for perfecting these applications. Great book for anyone who trains Taekwondo for self defense, as opposed to sports.

Very good Refernce Book
The book contains a lot of useful information especially for instructors who should understand the meaning and applications of poomsaes' movemnets. My only concern that some pictures were explained in Korean without an English translation.

A Good Direction in Practical Application of the TaeGuks
Upon my first exposure to this book, I like the direction the KTA seems to be taking in the applicability of training materials being published. While there still might be "better" (more practical perhaps) applications (for the TaeGuk Forms) being shown out there, I have valued TKD for decades, and was often sad at the lack of good applications for our TaeGuk Forms. Factually, I left TKD for a number of years on account of this (and other factors). It is good to see a renewed interest in showing TKD's practical / realistic offensive aspects. While in this text you may still seek some (arae makki) blocking of leg kicks done with the arm - something I feel is better done with the leg generally - the quality of the pictures, the inclusion of good technical pointers, and now even access to videos (!) make this a good purchase for someone seeking to improve the quality of their TKD while supporting the KTA's efforts to do the same.
