Adorable
This book is so cute & adorable with the drawings, the story was great for young children and even adults to hear sometimes, showing that strength comes in many forms and not always the way we think they do & it's the times we go though and what we learn on the journey that shows character & what strength we have. Knowing that to accept every inch of urself & to grow is importantThe way this book expressed emotion was lovely & will help kids to feel the emotions they are feeling with no fear or worry but to know that their is always hope and love behind everything

So pretty...
‘Just cause you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not important...Doesn’t mean it’s gone.’This is so pretty, I really enjoyed the art style and the colours used. This feels very much like a Pixar short, really sweet and well paced telling a cute story with a bigger message.

Need tissues!
This one really hit me in the feels, I am not ashamed to admit I was crying by the end. It was a beautifully drawn and told story of growth and insight on both sides. It had some amazing imagery which really was heartfelt. I loved this book and am intrigued to see where this author will go next.

Beautiful illustrations and a really emotional plot.
"I don't really think things can just disappear...Just 'cause you cant see it, doesn't mean its not important...doesn't mean it's gone. That's how it is in nature."This was such a sweet story! Beautiful illustrations and a really emotional plot.Pilu of the Woods follows Willow and Pilu as they adventure in the woods. After and argument with her big sister, Willow runs away to the woods. Here she meets Pilu, a lost tree spirit, and they explore the woods together. The messaging in this story was so lovely. Willow is forced to face her 'monsters' and work through some really difficult emotions. Pilu doesn't want to go home, but Willow is determined to help her find her way back. Both Willow and Pilu are able to draw from each others' experiences and help one another find a solution to the problems they are facing. Showing these conversations and events is so powerful - it's so important that young readers (and young people in general) see that talking about their feelings can be a massive help if they are struggling with something!I really enjoyed this, honestly can't believe how emotional it made me! Would definitely recommend.

Pilu of the Woods features many aspects that are beneficial in a middle grade book
Pilu of the Woods is a cute graphic novel for children and adults alike. It begins with Willow, talking to her mother and then her mother is absent. Willow lives near a forest and she, and her dog, encounter a girl named Pilu. The art style is beautiful and the dialogue is easy to follow. You can definitely see in parts how this book has been made suitable for a younger audience. The story features loss, bullying and familial and friend relationships.Additionally, this book also imparts knowledge and facts about foliage, I actually learned some things about plants that I did not know. Pilu of the Woods also features some good lessons about life in general, for example that we need to be careful of our actions so that we do not harm things or people. Furthermore, Nguyen shows that those we love still live on within us without making the story overly stimulating. Pilu of the Woods explores how children, and people in general, should not bottle up their emotions but express them in a healthy way so that they do not build up and make the person feel worse. The only negative thought I have about this book is that I feel as though it is unnecessarily long. It would have been better if Willow and Pilu's story had ended earlier and then another part following an adventure with Pilu or an after-chapter showing the girls when they are older.Overall, Pilu of the Woods features many aspects that are beneficial in a middle grade book. I really enjoyed this graphic novel, the images were so sweet and I loved all of the different lessons that were featured within. This is one of those books that I would recommend anyone and everyone to read.

A great story about grief
This book is adorable. It does deal with the loss of, a parent for a young person & learning to understand the emotions surrounding that. I did cry a little. The artwork is so cute & the story is well written. 10/10, one of the best books I've read in a while

A moving story
In gorgeous illustrations, a beautiful story that is moving and poignant, it's on how to listen to your inner demons, the little monsters that make you impatient, angry, anxious, become all too uncontrollable as they grow bigger and conquer you completely, make you utter the worst things in rage. The journey of discovering oneself, understanding where one is going wrong happens through a trail in the woods, a walk the protagonist Willow takes through it with her pet Chicory. With lovely mentions of flowers like Magnolia, Lily of the Valley, ox eye daisies, wisteria, why mushrooms grow in a circle, even a recipe of mushroom rice at the end of the book, this book is quite a delight!

Simply the cutest
Oni press never fails! All of the graphic novels I own from them are amazing and this one is particularly cute! It deals with themes like grief and loneliness without it ever feeling heavy or too much, just plain beautiful! The art is incredible and the characters are just so lovable, definitely would recommend reading this!

Wonderful
I really enjoyed the story here. It deals with grief and anger and exploring both. It also has a beautiful friendship between a young girl and a sapling, which is really interesting. The art style is gorgeous. It's a definite win for me.
