Perfect all rounder Chef Knife for home. Shorter, easier to handle, sturdy and dishwasher safe.
It's the perfect (and more forgiving) option if you're looking for a chef knife for home. It's shorter than the normal chef knife and larger than the other kitchen knifes you have.Have been using this for 2 years now, have handled almost everything, meat or vegetables.Did not come super sharpest on delivery, I believe by choice, as the blade is strong, safer that way, especially for beginners, which I am. But it's sharp enough for anything at home.Slightly shorter knife for this type, means it's very handy and comfortable to use. And it's by no means short as its a pretty large knife. The blade is heavy enough to crush ginger garlic by the blade, and cut through bones.Quality is extremely good, very durable, and opted for this model (which does not have wooden handle) as its dishwasher safe. Have been in dishwasher many times but it's easy to clean otherwise too and I prefer to wash it by hand.Price wise, it will look pricey, but if you look at other chef knives from Victorinox itself, you would see it's actually priced more reasonable. And it's a long term buy, you can use it for years. I believe it's better value for money, than buying a bad blade. If I have to pick just one knife for a kitchen, I then it would be this knife, it's the perfect all rounder.

Serious cutlery
If you're serious about cutting with proper kitchen tools, stick with Swiss made stainless steel, and Victorinox in particular. You'll never go wrong. This can slice the thinnest slices with no issue and the blade holds its edge well.

Great for chopping and slicing anything in the kitchen
The victorinox santoku knife from cloudtail I received is genuine ... and excellent at slicing & chopping in the kitchen. The top edge is a good 1.5mm thick, so applying pressure there when slicing/chopping is comfortable... and there is a taper to the cutting edge side (which is < 0.5mm). The wide blade (45mm at widest point) also helps slice nicely. The length of the blade is also a comfortable 17cm so the knife does not look intimidating (like chefs kitchen knives that several cms longer). As always victorinox stainless steel quality is top notch ... I have other vnox knives that have retained their sharpness even after two years of use - so I expect the same from this santoku knife. Before using the santoku knife ... it is a good idea to learn how to use them - so see howto youtube videos for santoku knives.

Very Useful, Less Heavy, Little Pricey
Its a Victorinox. You know you have almost nothing to complain about. The Knife is sharp. I found it a tad too light, but that's a good thing for a lot of people out there.Very Versatile. The steel may not be as hard as the one found on their swiss knife range, so do not attempt more than it is meant to work on - which is general vegetarian work in the kitchen.

The best knife I ever possessed
I’m a big fan of Victorinox however most of their knives are not pocket friendly. Yet heart wants what I wants so I picked this one to splurge on. And it was worth every penny. It slices meat like butter. Fine chopping has never been easier. The rocking motion is just amazing with this to get that finely chopped cilantro or mint. Must have for all those who love cooking.

Awesome knife but not for amateurs
The victorinox brand needs no validation. The knife is super, very smooth and very useful for people with small hands, for whom chef knives may be too large to handle. This product is not for amateur or aspirational cooks though. It is super sharp and can inflict serious wounds if not handled carefully.
