This float suit is great! This is the 2nd one I have purchased from this company. My first child used the size 1-2 from 16mo to about 3yo. I had to hold her up for the first summer as this float suit does NOT keep them upright on its own, they will fall over until they learn to stay upright. During the summer it was used probably about 5x a week, and it held up great. However, at the end it was pretty stretched out and didn’t form to her body like the material previously had, it was really loose and thin. My 2nd child is 18mo, 26lbs and it fits her great!

I thought these would be great for my grandkids when we went to the pool. I think they would work with older kids, but the 2 and 4 year olds I have, don't swim often, so they were not the best for them. A regular vest worked better and also the puddle jumpers. I loved the one piece SPF suit for it's sun protection and coverage. But the idea of the floats around the middle are for children who are very familiar with swimming and can balance in a pool and just need a little bit to keep afloat.

I like this type of swimsuit better than the ones with just one big blocky flotation pad sewn into the front and back. That other type tends to rise up over my child's face. This one stays put because the flotation pads are lower on her belly, and she seems more comfortable. Plus, since it covers the shoulders/upper arms and the thighs, that's less sunblock I have to apply each time she goes out!

Aids the flotation of my daughter so that her face is always in the water - no matter how we adjusted the inserts.

Great product, but watch out for the following:. Discoloration of the top part of the suit after about 20 uses (uv issue?). Thinning of the material after about 20 uses. Does not keep head above water when child looses balance (I removed some floats from a couple of compartments in the back to reduce the risk of her ending on her face, but still monitor very closely.. Floats may pop out from under the middle part.I use this with a small floating ring tight around it and my little one can enjoy kicking and splashing.
