I like the history of this breed, the author goes into detail and it’s interesting. The Dane is the tallest and largest dog, Apollo for sure. They can have a lot of health problems so be careful that you can afford vet bills. These beautiful animals appeared as far back as 3000 BC! A cross of the English Mastiff and Irish Wolfhound, they are a good family pet if you have plenty of room. These gentle giants need lots of love and care. This book can help decide.

This was purchased as a gift for a 78 yr. old gentleman who has had many, many years of experience with Great Danes but is getting a 12 wk. old puppy.
