Little Book of House Plants and Other Greenery

Not really worth it
This book is little. So there is that. But they do not really introduce you to any new varieties of house plants or add anything helpful to care or placement. Which are the biggest factors in maintaining houseplants. My biggest issue is that they really just took the care label from a plant, put it on a bigger page, and gave us a larger picture. no information about pet interactions. The pictures are trying too hard to lean toward the "art' side, but they would have been better served to think about the content and not pictures.

Not as informative as I’d hoped.
This book has less information than I hoed for. It doesn’t talk about the type of soil to use for the plants which is pretty basic. I also noticed one of the plants is mislabeled. See pictures. The Mother of Thousands plant description has the wrong scientific name and the image of the plant is wrong.

Protect the books.
The product was great, what I’m having an issue with is the fact that they haven’t protected the books inside the loose box & traveling to my house I’ve received them too damaged for my liking.

Won’t help you take care of your indoor plants
The book is a nice coffee table book. That’s it I thought it would help me take care of indoor house plants or recommend good ones for certain areas or lighting in your home. It doesn’t do much but show you pretty pics of some plants and how nice they look in that room 🙄 no tips on care

cute but needs more information
as cute as this book is, i feel like it is formatted more for aesthetics than for information. each plant has 2 pages, one for a picture, and the other page has 3-4 tips for light, watering, repotting, propogation, etc. i was also disappointed that at least half of the plants included are toxic to pets, but only 3 or 4 are listed as so. this is a cute book, and it is helpful to me for the plants i do have, but i had to spend some time researching to see what plants were toxic/non-toxic. i would recommend finding another book that has more extensive information.

Just what I wanted
I bought this book for my wife's birthday because she's obsessed with houseplants, and she loves it. The pictures are great, and it gives all the basic care instructions. If you're looking for more than basic care instructions, there might be something better out there, but as far as a colorful houseplant guide to be used as a quick reference, I think it's great.

All you ever wanted to know
This is a lovely little book. I have a broad selection of plants - whatever takes my fancy as I'm wandering around the greenhouse. It makes for a diversity of plants and thankfully I've found nearly all of them in this book. The pictures are a great help when I don't know the various common names. They seem to go by many different names and seeing them photographed is a great help. The descriptions are easy to understand, as are the care instructions. I keep the book as a reference on a table near my plants and refer to it often for assistance in their proper care.

Simplicity of Book
I appreciated the Little Book of House Plants and Other Greenery from the stand point of it's simplicity and the photos provided. I was thrilled when I handed this to my 7 year old daughter and she got so excited. Then when we were headed out for an appointment that we have to drive 30 minutes to. She read this book in the back seat to me both to and from the appointment. It isn't very often that I see my daughter read to me for pure pleasure of the topic that she is reading. We do read daily and she is a fluent reader but it always seems like a struggle to fit reading into our day. I purchased this book for myself as a beginner house plant owner. I feel it is a good resource for our use at this point in learning more on the topic.

Disappointing
Describes a very limited number of houseplants, a lot of which are basically the same plant in slightly different colours, with exactly the same care instructions. Additionally, there is no logical order to these (possibly to make the above less obvious??). Doesn't tell you much more than the sticker that was on the pot when you bought your plant. Written in the cutsey-informal style that's all the rage now, but doesn't contain much substance.Edit: One positive that may be worth mentioning is that it contains info on how to propagate each plant, but again, since it only describes a small selection of the most common plants, this doesn't increase the book's value by much.

Good for complete beginners
This book is okay. It would be good for absolute beginners, since the section at the start which covers all the basics is good. However, some of the plants it features have been named incorrectly - for example it talks about a Monstera Obilqua, which is an extremely rare plant, and the picture clearly features a Monstera Adansonii

Excellent compact guide to popular houseplants
Really nice book, starts with some general tips on houseplant care, then goes through the most popular houseplants one by one with specific advice on the care needs on each one. Lovely photos. Looks great on my kitchen shelf surrounded by plants!

... with clear and concise instructions to keep you plants happy and healthy
Lovely book with clear and concise instructions to keep you plants happy and healthy. Beautiful photography. Good tips and little bits of 'Did you know?' too. Have purchased the Cacti and succulent book as well to cover all main plants.

Lovely little book
Lovely simple little book. Not at all in depth (not that I feel its trying to be), a good easy to read first book for someone who is new to house plants. Happy with my purchase.
