Paula's Choice-DEFENSE Antioxidant Pore Purifier, Concentrated Serum

Firstly, I want to begin by saying I follow an 8-10 step Korean-based skincare routine. This involves using a face oil, face cleanser, essence, face serum, eye cream, face moisturizer, and nighttime skin cream. I'm in my mid-twenties and have battled with face acne that looks like bad skin rashes for around 15 years now, and I've tried it all until I settled on this skincare routine. And when I say I've tried it all - I mean I've tried it all, from Proactive to Accutane to chemical peels, you name it! And at this point, my wallet is quite exhausted from the many acne solutions over the years.That being said, a Korean skincare routine worked wonders for me because I feel like my skin is baby soft when I wake up. However, I would still find myself getting tiny texture bumps on my face around my time of the month and weeks afterwards. I'm positive I'm seeing results from this product because I've only switched out my face serum product with this (and actually stopped using my essence!). I was doing some research for the right product for me, and I found this because I was looking for a product with Azelaic Acid in it. My face apparently has an overwhelming excess of sebum, but within as little as a week, I saw those pesky little texture bumbs on my jawline and chin growing smaller. Even some larger pimples disappeared within a day!I bought the travel size first and I'm still using it (it's been about a week of use, and I put it on twice a day in the morning and night). I also went ahead and bought the bigger size because I'm so pleased with the results to may face! I included the chapstick so you can compare the size of the travel size with the 31 oz bottle. Now I very much look forward to my skincare routine day and night because I know I will see results in the morning!

I use this as my daytime serum. My skin is clear and bright, it's a light serum that absorbs quickly, does not leave a sticky finish, does not leave a shiney finish and performs. I liked it enough to purchase the full sized to make it permanent. This serum plays well with my makeup, moisturizer and instant gratification Wrinkle reduction serum.

Hasn't irritated my extremely sensitive skin. Clogged pores on my cheek still isn't gone. I'll continue to use.

For those whose skin does not take Vitamin C serums well, this serum is for you! It keeps my pores clean, but is still super gentle. And can I say that the brightening effect it has had on my skin is *chef's kiss*! Salicylic acid, Azelaic acid and Vitamin C in one bottle - it's the ultimate multiple use serum. I use this every morning in place of a vitamin C and follow up with SPF of course. I would say give at least 3-4 weeks to really start seeing results.

I used up a whole tube of this (purchased from the Paula's Choice website) and I had a gift card, so I bought it this time from Amazon. The packaging was exactly the same, the color of the product was exactly the same golden yellow, but the consistently is completely different. This felt thinner, runnier, and just not the same as the tube from PC which was thicker gel. I don't know why there was a difference.

I wish I would have done before and after pictures. I started getting hormonal acne around the time I turned 20. I have tried numerous products and even went to a dermatologist, who was absolutely no help, but this stuff was a game changer! I did purge at first so it did seem like my skin got worse, but I stuck with it and I’m so glad I did! There is a dramatic difference in my face! My acne is almost completely gone!!!! My skin ton is also dramatically different!

Wow this stuff really works. I don’t have breakout prone skin but I have dry skin and am prone to getting milia, mostly on my cheeks. I’ve had 2 milia on my cheek for months and nothing was helping. After searching products I decided to try this after reading reviews. I’ve been using it once to twice per day for less than a week and one of my milia is already gone! And the other is definitely looking smaller! I was afraid it would dry out my skin but I haven’t noticed that. I mean, my skin feels tight after applying but that’s to be expected, once I follow with a moisturizer a few minutes later it feels fine. I will definitely continue to use to hopefully prevent future milia from forming.

Finally, a serum that doesn't clog my pores! I love this stuff. I live in a very dry climate, and this has really helped to add that extra layer of protection to my skin. The antioxidants have really made a difference in my skin.
