The Sweet Life in Pais

This book kept me entertained for the three days that I read it whenever I had the time. Lebovitz does an excellent job of relating his adventures in Paris without making it sound too self absorbed and hence boring for the reader.The book tells you of myths and truths that you'd probably heard of Parisians and by the end of it, your ill-informed, romanticist picture of Paris shatters and you might feel content living in Muradabad, dipping Parle-G in cutting chai.Lebovitz throws in a generous amount of recipes in there and educates the reader of the Parisian way of life in a funny way, often anecdotally, laughing at himself. A nice, light read. Do try the recipes- they're really good! You could have a mug of super thick hot chocolate as Lebovitz suggests somewhere in there with a recipe.

I like David and his story-telling style. Received today and have started reading. The entire content is woven with true Paris stories and famous French recipes...Fun read indeed. You will start laughing from the very first page )

One of the best books on Paris that I've read so far.

I have really got into David's work this year, with his nightly Instagram Lives during Paris and have become a real fan. Having read his other book, L'Appart, previously, I have invested in this book and his cookbooks this year with no regrets. As a former resident of Paris this book about his move to the City of Light and subsequent attempts to settle in and become a Parisien made me laugh out loud and I've already made some of the cake recipes, with success. It's an easy read. If you love baking, love France, love its food and haven't discovered David Lebovitz yet then do! He will bring joy to your life.

Great fun and beautifully honest, wonderful recipes too

This romance is so funny and contains few nice receipts too.Definitely buy it if you are into Paris and cooking.
