Nice, basic wool yarn
I love this wool yarn. It's very basic, not fancy or too expensive, but mixes well with other yarn, and felts if you want it that way. And naturally, it's very warm, even when wet, as 100% wool is.

Great for the Price
I see a lot of complaints about this yarn around the internet. It seems to me those complaints are short-sighted. Does it have issues like occasional odd threads of this and that that need to be pulled out? Yes. Is it Aran weight? No. But the positives far outweigh the negatives:1. It's 100% wool yarn. I refuse to spend weeks/months on an item that's made out of synthetic yarn. I've lived long enough to discover that wool holds up far better over time than any synthetic fiber. Plus, I don't like the smell of synthetics. (I will use some blended wool when making things for children, for ease of washing.)2. It's extremely affordable. I found a car coat pattern I really liked. If I'd try buying Rowan or Brooklyn Tweed, even Cascaade or Istex, I'd easily have spent $150 to $200, possibly more. With the Fishermen's I got enough yarn for the whole coat for $80, and that's with the necessary doubling to get the proper weight for the stitch gauge.3. Bonus: After washing and blocking, I Love the slight felting that occurs. It closes up spaces in the stitch pattern and makes the fabric even warmer.Would I like to have an unlimited yarn budget to get the fancy yarn? Sure, who wouldn't? But what I have found is an affordable wool yarn that now enables me to consider large projects that before I'd have to reject due to cost considerations.Oh, one more thing. I'm a life-long buyer of textiles of all kinds - thread, yarn, fabric, etc. And I have always appreciated India's textile products. Seeing that this yarn is made in India makes me love it all the more.

Great quality wool yarn
Great price for quality wool yarn. Working on a sweater and have been impressed by the ease of use. As 100% wool, it is (of course) a bit scratchy, so keep that in mind. If you’re looking for a softer yarn, go for a mix of wool and polyester/synthetic. This sweater is going to be super warm and perfect for winter! Great yarn for a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for 100% wool yarn for a project.

Good wool. Good value. Has substance. Not soft enough for most people’s ‘neck test’. Works for me.
Great for classic Aran cable work and textures. . Consistency, quality and value bring Real Wool possibilities to anyone, you can feel and smell lanolin, which I love. Good for sweaters worn over a shirt, blankets, outerwear, and for me… next to skin works! It will felt. Not super wash treated. Hand wash and block. Tepid water in a sink, tub, tote, a bit of shampoo and conditioner and a soak and rinse without stretching or agitating. Lay out on layered towels, roll up. Walk on it to squeeze out water. Lay out on dry towels and shape it how it should be shaped. Let dry. YouTube it. Easier than it sounds. Very worthwhile. But don’t expect a giftee to succeed in that. This is a good “ToMeForMefromMe” present as my mother says. Yummy wool. Thank you Lion. Probably a good learning yarn. Elastic and comes light colored for easy visibility needed to learn. And economical.

Great yarn, odd pricing.
I love working with this yarn. I have only used the 100% solid colors though because reviews state that all but one of the tweeds ( maple, I believe -which I can't find) have bits of hard polyester/nylon in them. Although not as tightly would as I like yarn to be, I have not had any colors I have used split at all. The yarn not only works up well, it's actually pretty soft for a 100% wool yarn, and it also felts great as well as takes dye very well. Because it is 100% wool however, I always take any 100% natural animal fiber yarn and place it the warming drawer of my oven and bring it to 130 for an hour or so and then store them in plastic bags after. The heat will ensure there are no moths, larvae or eggs, etc. in them but just to be safe I still bag them after. The only downside to this yarn I can say is the cost here on Amazon. These skeins (solid or tweed) at most run 9.99 just about everywhere else, and occasionally even less when on sale. I purchased these skeins here when they were at 10.00, but now coming back and seeing these and the other Fishermen's yarn costing between 13-18+ dollars per skein is more than I am willing to spend on them. I am not sure why the price got hiked to the point of even nearly doubled? If they drop to 10.00 again I would buy them here, but until then I will buy them elsewhere when needed.

Nice wool yarn
Beautiful chocolate brown color and typical wool feel.Fairly easy to crochet with but does split easily which is annoying.I am using a 6mm hook for tunisian crochet and you can clearly see the yarn is pretty much untwisted and flat on the shank of the hook. Although annoying, it is working up to be a softer feel wool fabric with more fluff than it would be if werea tighter twist...All in all a good yarn and will purchase again.

A nice wool for felted crafts
This is my go to yarn for felting or crafting anything I want in a pure wool. It is perfect for making baby soakers and felted hats and slippers.
