OFM ESS Collection
The chair itself is alright, Could use a little more butt cushion but in general its on par with my wife's sealy chair. My only real complaint sofar is the back is just not high enough if you want to lean back in the chair. Normal sitting it is fine. Its is a good solid chair if you can get it less then 125.00

Its a Great Chair If You’re Tall and/or A Larger Person
I recently started working from home, which means I’ve had to build a work station from scratch. After finding the perfect desk for my needs, I started looking for a good chair to pair with it. I’ve had back surgery and have ongoing issues with my spine, so I need to make sure that the chair I choose is not only ergonomically correct, but the right size for my height and weight. I had narrowed my choices down to a few different styles when I was offered this chair. After a little research, I accepted the offer and anxiously waited for it arrive. It arrived packaged nicely, with each part wrapped individually and protected with foam padding. The screws were clearly labeled (although the caps were incorrectly labeled but that wasn’t hard to figure out). It was very easy to assemble and only took approx 15-20 minutes. While my son helped me out, the assembly could probably be handled by one person without much trouble. Once it was fully assembled, I placed it in front of my desk and went to work. The chair is very comfortable. The seat and back are fully padded with memory foam so it molds to your body. The back is curved and does recline, but its a little stiff and you need both feet planted on the ground in order to to apply enough pressure to tilt it back. I imagine that this will loosen up & become easier over time and the more often its reclined. The arms are padded providing a comfortable arm rest. The wheels are quiet and the chair glides nice and smooth without a lot of noise and leaving no marks on the floor. Overall, its a great looking chair.Unfortunately, its too much chair for me. Although the height of the chair can be adjusted, its still too high on the lowest setting. In order to plant my feet firmly on the floor, I have to scoot my self forward in the seat which means I lose the support that the back of the chair provides. If I sit back comfortably in the chair, only my tippy toes touch the floor. My desk does have a small shelf on the bottom that can be used as a foot rest, but even with my feet resting there, I still can’t sit back comfortably in the chair. If I can’t sit back, I can’t take advantage of the tilt feature, which is one of the most important things I look for in an office chair. The seat is just too large and has too much depth for someone of my size.On the other hand, my son is both taller and larger than I am, so he was able to sit in the chair with his feet planted firmly on the floor and could lean back taking full advantage of the tilt function. The arms, however, don’t fit with his desk, so he winds up sitting a little too far away from his desktop. If he raises the seat, this problem is solved, but then his feet don’t sit flat on the floor. Obviously, if he had a different type of desk it would be a better fit (which is something he’s considered upgrading any how). All things considered, this is a really nice chair, especially at the price its currently listed at on Amazon. It just isn’t the best chair for someone short. I’d say you need to be at least 5’3” or taller for this chair to be the right height. Even then, if you’re thin, its unlikely that you’ll fill out the seat and find the depth just too large. For this reason, I’d say that this chair is better suited for men than women. Of course, if they added a few more adjustments - like allowing for the arms to be raised or lowered, separate from the seat, and adding a depth adjustment for the seat - this would be a 5 star chair. Of course, adding those adjustments would probably increase the price of the chair.

Too Much Plastic & Cushions "Squeak"
For the selling price at the time I got this it is not bad but spend a bit more and see if you can get a bit more quality.Everything that does not have to be made of metal to survive is plastic: Arms, chair base and such and some of it a bit roughly finished where the screw holes were molded or bored.Assembly is on a par with most such furniture and not as bad as some. I am an older man with arthritis and I was able to put it together single handed with a minimum reference to naughty words. All the parts are there, a couple of extra screws are included and the ubiquitous Allen wrench. Which was actually made of steel and not licorice as some seem to be in really cheap sets.Even better, the assorted screw holes lined up and have metal inserts to fit the screws into the chair. It all sort of holds itself together which I do not like. The seat holds the arms, the arms hold the back so make sure everything is tightened down and then recheck a few days later or use some thread lock or similar when putting it together so it does not self dissassemble while in use.As I mentioned, the base is plastic but is solid with no flex in it and a sort of honeycomb reinforcement in the underside so I suspect it is sturdy enough. Wheels roll smoothly also. I'd like to see real metal in the base though.Only adjustments are height and seat tilt lock/unlock. They work via cables and little paddles that screw onto the seat bottom. Height adjustment is smooth but tilt lock is just a short bar protruding a little bit so don't get too frisky as it might not hold under real stress. Seat's lowest height is a bit higher than I like but nothing is perfect. If you have specific needs, check the specs carefully.Padding is adequate but I bottom out the seat cushion so it feels harder than it ought to. Wonder how long the foam cushion will last. Arms and back are comfy but neither can be adjusted in any way. If you want a full ergonomic chair, expect to pay for it.Warranty is a bit dicey as they can require you to return the defective parts at your own expense and that could easily cost half the price of the chair for the bulky or heavy parts plus time spent taking it apart and reassembling it if replaced.Took me about an hour to assemble it but I am not the most dexterous person these days. Two people who know what they are doing and are a lot more nimble than me could probably do it in fifteen minutes. Instructions are basic but legible and parts are clearly marked. I've had worse, far worse. The supplied Allen wrench is the only tool you will need but the screws also have hex heads so you can use a power driver. The leather is "bonded", that is, shreds and dust from real leather are ground and mixed into a gluey matrix and spread over a substrate. This will, in time, flake and shed like bad dandruff. But it's a spend more get more situation. You're not going to get an $800 chair for this price.Seat back is just high enough for me (6'2) to comfortably lean my head back but not so tall as to be useful for napping. I'm retired, I can nap when I darn well please but I have a lovely massive and over-all *comfy* recliner for that so no points off here. ;)Over all, it's not bad but not great, pretty mediocre. Base and support post seem good and solid, I get no wobbles that would worry me, just a bit of side to side sway that I think is the seat pan flexing a bit. I don't think this is a chair you buy once and pass on to your kids but it appears to offer decent if not great value.Oh and where things screw together, you get tacky little plastic caps to cover the holes. It screams "I assembled this myself" from across the room and looks shoddy. This is definitely not executive suite furniture.
