very good book..well organized...lucidly explained...containing a lot of pics...can easily beat Nitin Singhania's book...now no need to read spectrum anymore...Besides this one, you should not forget to buy Indian Heritage, Art and Culture by Madhukar Kumar Bhagat ...these 3 books along with NCERT Fine Arts would give you an extremely strong foundation of Indian Art & Culture portion...i have added pics of this book..No need of buying any bogus coaching notes...

This cover cover all aspects of Art & Culture paper of both prilminary exam and mains exams of both U.P.S.C and State Public Service examination. Even if you are not preparing this book will give you knowledge about our rich culture.

This book was brought to my attention because it was written by a faculty member of a leading coaching institution. But to my surprise, the content of this doesn't even cater the basic minimum requirements of prelims and mains examination. This is book is like a summary of all the topics that too not covered holistically. I am surprised with the 5-star reviews of the book and not sure why the readers have reviewed it with a 5-star rating. This book doesn't even deserve 1 rating. I would recommend to explore other books for preparation but don't waste money in purchasing this.

For all the people who are praising Nitin Singhania, just et me clarify: Nitin singhania was the student of this Author. And all the concepts mentioned in Nitin's book are borrowed from Alok S Jha only.

Too good.. Better than MacGraw Hill's book of Nitin Singhania as it is more analytical. It deals with the art and architecture in a very detailed manner, best is the separate chapter on Sculpture art. I loved the explanation and images related to evolution of stupa. Thanks to the author.
