Best work boots hands down.
Great, great, great work boots. Hands down the most durable, water proof boots I've ever bought. This is my second pair of Irish Setter, typically I buy Ariat. Comfortable and worth the cash. I'm a millwright, I would, fabricate, and fix industrial equipment and I'm in my boots 12 hours a day. I will definitely buy another pair when these finally crap out.

Great boots
I normally order a half size smaller cause I can get other year out the boots these boots for me they are 2 year boots but I went a half size smaller last time and got 3 years out of them and I am the worst on boots these are the best boots I have ever owned and I keep coming to him cause I know they last . But they fit great out the box don't hurt me feet any they are stiff for a week but they don't hurt me feet in break in period will keep buying till they stop making them , the boot I like to see them make is the 6 inch crosby BOA they will be the boot to get if they ever make it in the BOA. Off the review topic alittle but these boots are great buy them you won't go wrong. I wear a 10d and they is a little room to play so get a 9.5d if you where a 10d they will last you longer cause what happens if you tear the boot where the ankle part is taking off and on the boot . NOTE DONT WEAR THEM BEAR FOOTED if your foot sweats you will rip the liner on the inside . I had to wear it like that one time cause I had to lose a sock get my drift.

Great boots, one drawback
I like the boot overall, it is possibly the most comfortable work boot I’ve ever worn. I’ve used them for two weeks now and they have been put to work in west Texas. They are the lightest boots I’ve ever bought, just as light as a pair of sneakers. The only con I’ve noticed so far is that since I have bigger calves the vamp works downward. This is normally not a big deal, but the rubber Achilles area rubs on the back of my Achilles, making both of my Achilles’ tendons / back of my ankle sore.Once they’re a little more worn in, I’ll send an update.

These boots work very well for a woman's fit as well (order 2 sizes smaller for woman's fit)
The top 'cylinder' of the boot fits very nice (not too big but enough room to tuck your pants in them). I would like to see some illuminating features on the backs of the boots. I have seen some boots with this feature and it really stands out when you are working in the dark. They are extremely comfortable and I reccommend a wide fit if you wear the thick boot socks like I prefer. I would highly reccommend these boots to my crew members (expecially the women - its so hard to find a proper fit for women's steel / composite toes).

These seemed like they were constructed very well
These seemed like they were constructed very well, however I really don't like how they feel when walking. My feet felt comfortable, but I kept feeling like the boots were slapping my calf with every step. I didn't wear them long, but I could tell they would be very uncomfortable for me. Also, they do not offer any ankle support as you would get in a laced boot.

awesome boots for the ranch.
i work on a ranch here in west tex and im on my feet all day. this is my second pair of these same boots. and they are amazing. the only downside is the sole wears down after the first 6-10 months and needs to be replaced. beyond that the first pair lasted longer than a year before the water proofing broke down. and thats with every single day wearing them. also the composite toe is so light you pretty much can run in these no problem. anyways these are amazing! i highly recommend these and hope everyone who gets a pair can get the same use i have.

Great comfort, not waterproof, small design flaw.
First off, I have been a lover of Irish setter boots since my first pair of hunting boots. I think they make an outstanding product. (usually)When I saw they make slip on work boots I thought, this is a no brainer! Since my redwing work boots were on their way out I thought why not give these a go. I know the brand and I know they are usually very comfortable. I work as a contractor millwright and usually am ankle deep in sand and water repairing pumps. Needless to say waterproof is an absolute MUST!Once I received them I wore them around the house for a day to make sure all was good before taking them out to the job site. One complaint right off the bat is, the pull tabs to assist in putting the boots on rub on your calf. (Another reviewer has the same issue) this is simply a design flaw as the flap should have looped back to itself on the outside and been riveted or Sewn to itself. This would alleviate any contact with the leg and still provide a fairly strong contact point to pull the boot on. This was my plan once I was satisfied these would work for me. Long socks would also help with that issue. For now I wanted to get a good feel for the waterproof aspect. I put some long socks on and went for a walk outside. Time to find some Snow, mud, and water. I put them through a normal day of walking, kneeling, crouching and any other position I would likely be in at work and in the mud or water. The photos I posted show how they held up to 4 hrs of this activity. They began to leak almost immediately. I stood in a creek about 4” deep and began to feel the dreaded moisture at the ball and heal of my foot. Instant disappointment. They weren’t terribly wet so I carried on in the snow and mud.As far as comfort goes these are easy 5 stars all day long. They are absolutely amazing. Without even much of a break in period they felt like my redwings after a year. Truly remarkable.Waterproof abilities need improvement. The water actually accumulated between the sole and the bottom of the boot. When I took them off inside water poured out between the boot and the sole. I couldSee right away where it got in (see photos) Perhaps more glue would have helped? Not a shoe maker so I won’t speculate. So to sum it up, they are super comfortable and a joy to wear for hours on end. If waterproof is not a huge concern and you wear long socks then for sure give them a go. As far as I’m concerned these boots might need a bit of a redesign before I’ll spend $250 on them.

Very Comfortable
Indeed, these boots are very comfortable. Definitely will be better after ‘breaking in’. Everything about it is perfect to me. The only question is how long can the boots last. My previous boot was redwings petroking and lasted for about 1.5 years before the left front sole of the boots came off. The built for this Irish Setter front sole is similar to the petroking. Hopefully this one lasted longer.
