Great quality and value for the price
I have purchased several other Red Rock products (small duffle bag, pistol holsters, ammo magazine pouches) and have not been disappointed in any of their products. There is no exception to this assault pack. This assault pack is just what I expected. That said, this is not a 3-day tactical bag or a "bug-out-bag". It is a darn good one day camping or one day hiking bag. It has plenty of room and handles a reasonable weight load. My primary use is to take to the gun range. I have put three semi-auto pistols in tactical holsters (2 each 9mm and a .40 cal); three magazxine pouches with three loaded mags in each pouch; two pair of shooting glasses; two pair of ear protectors ("mickey mouse type); two mag loaders; a Leatherman multi-tool; four boxes of 50 rounds each 9mm/155gr; and 2 boxes of 50 rounds each .40 cal S&W/165grs. I also have 4 small MOLLE pouches (two on each side) with a set of small pistol sized laser sights in two of them. I still have room for more ammo or other items. The zippers are good quality and the seams are double stictched. It's constructed from 600 denier nylon with a vinyl liner inside on all the surfaces that face outward. I do not believe it is waterproof, but probably water resistant to some degree and would keep light rain from getting inside while being worn. I did a lot of research looking for a bag that I could use to haul my stuff to the gun range. You can pay a lot more for nearly identical pack but at this price point you cannot beat it in terms of quality, size and weight capacity. In my research, I looked at a lot of Youtube video "reviews" of this pack and I have to tell you there are some really incompetent "reviewers" out there. One that really caught me attention was a very young man that claimed this particular pack's seam were unravelling. His "proof" was a small thread that was sticking out at the end of a sewn seam. What it actually was, was the end of a stitch where the seamstress cut thread off from the sewing machine.

It holds all my plein air painting supplies plus part of an easel!
Great to have such a well organized watercolor art supplies, finally. It is a great pack! Now I used to work at REI and have many of their packs and an Osprey, Kelty external frame packs. Oh, and a Lowe and a couple of others for which I can't remember the brands. My all time favorite is the REI Talus 35. I also have a 60. Wonderful fit.So anyway, I was really impressed with this pack, especially at the price point. Zippers seem very robust, it is well finished and since I really don't need a stout hip belt, this one works very well. Great adjustments all around. You know I might just buy another for my oil supplies. If you have any questions, just ask. Jim

Great pack
My daughter had one for 4 years, this thing worked great. Took it as carry on for flight. Had 4 days on cloths, tablet and 4x chargers plus a cpap machine and still had room. All seems are really strong

Great for Survival Preppers
My son carries the first aid supplies for all the groups he belongs to and is nicknamed the medic. It fits all his gear comfortably even as he adds through continuing training!

8 years still going strong
I've had this bag since 2016 and it has never let me down. It has survived multiple plane trips, hikes, drops, falls, and scrapes. I just wish they sold replacement waist straps since mine finally ripped.

Well constructed bag with a lot of versatility.
I purchased this bag for ruck-hiking. There is a lot of adjust-ability for fit and comfort. A 45lb ruck plate fits perfect, with plenty of room for padding, when it is collapsed as flat as it will go.There are a lot of adaptable compartments for organization, plenty of molle for add-ons, and seems well suited for many different functions; day pack, over-night bag, ruckpack, or school bag.

Great EDC Bag
I bought this bag to replace my Red Rocks Sling bag that was attacked by my dogs because of a granola bar that was in it. So I started looking around and I knew that I wanted something that was big enough to carry my laptop when I needed to but also wasn't ridiculously big. This bag fit all of my needs.I use it for a work/EDC bag. It is big enough to carry what I need on a daily basis with plenty of room to spare. It can fit my 15 inch laptop in the main pouch pretty well with my planner and paperwork I have for work in the mess pocket on the inside. It has a second zipper pocket that is much smaller but still good size that I carry some random stuff in but has a pocket inside that is PERFECT fit for my tablet that I carry pretty regularly.Outside pockets are great. I use the small one on top to carry stuff that I need really quick like meds and keys. Bigger pocket is good for carry slightly bigger stuff that you need quickly like phone and snacks or whatever floats your boat.MOLLE on the on the outside is nice amount without looking overly tacky. I like having the options on the outside without it being covered with MOLLE. I have a media pouch on the outside that I use to carry my ipod on outside mainly because I had it on the sling bag and just continued using it on my new bag. I also use it for carrying a pocket knife and tactical pen for easy access. It does have a pocket for a hydration pack but I have not tried it out as of yet but seems to be alright. All in all, I love this bag. This is my second bag that I have purchased from Red Rock and they have both be great bags.

Impresionante calidad

This one didn't have as nice straps as my older model
I have two of the packs, one black and a couple years older and this one. This one didn't have as nice straps as my older model, the waist belt comes loose from the buckle every now and then and the straps on the under side of the bag didn't come with Velcro to keep the excess strap rolled up and secure. That being said, still very durable and one of my fav tacticle packs I own.

Fell apart in four months' time.
I bought one for my son in January and he was so very pleased with it. Seemed sturdy and waterproof. After four months, however, the waterproofing is peeling away from the inside and the zipper to the main compartment is loose (see attached picture) so that's not waterproof anymore either. Very disappointing.

Good Buy
I'll Start off by saying i did recieve a lemon the first time and had to be sent a replacement. On the back panel there is a pocket for a Hydration Bladder/conceal carry/documents. it closes by velcro and that velcro ripped within hours of me receiving and testing it.Now to the review of the bag i currently have. This bag is so versatile and jam packed with features.Every single pocket is Compartmentalized for good storage arrangements.Front top pocketNice and small for quick access items liek a phone/Gps rag/hand towel etc.Front Bottom PocketLots of elastic straps and compartments for pens/keys/GPS/Map/Compass/food/medicine flashlight. Its a deep pocket i Would say most of the contents of an average cars glove box can fit in there .Middle PocketThis pocket is about as long as the whole bag but is relatively slim. When combined with the other two pockets already mentioned so far , all the contents of an average highschool backpack will fit in these compartments. This pocket can easily hold a comprehensive First aid kit plus more. I currently have 200 feet of paracord a map and compass a few glow sticks and hand warmers in mine. This Would be a good pocket to keep a jacket or rain shell. This Pocket has two mesh pockets and some clothe stitched pockets for small items similar to the other pocket.Main Pocket(The big kahuna)The pocket is gigantic. It will hold everything you need for any long term trip or short term excursion It has one long mesh pocket on the front side that goes the full length of the Pack. In that Sleeve I currently keep a All weather tarpaulin. It does stick out a little over the end of the mesh but the pack still closes easily. The end of the mesh pocket is below the zipper line. The thing that is appealing about this particular pocket is that it has a D style opening. The zippers go all the way around much like a suitcase so you can access anything in the pocket easily and the entire thing does not need unpacking to do so.Additional FeaturesThe Bag is loaded with MOLLE/PALS webbing on all sides except the back panel. So if you have additional gear you would like to attach it will be easy using the attachment loops. I have a bottle holder attached to the left side of mine. There are a few rows of velcro MOLLE near the top to accommodate Patches I have one with my Screen name just for morale. The back Panel does have a pocket for a hydration Bladder or a conceal carry and the straps along the shoulder Straps for tubing. The back panel is also padded for comfort but no sort of air flow channel is visible(sweaty backs). The shoulder straps are padded for comfort but this also makes the bag heavier in the long run.Now for the badThe Bag comes with A sternum Strap and a Waist strap. These are poorly designed. they will always fall off . the straps are adjustable on both sides( the side that has the buckles and the side that connects to the pack) the side that connects to the pack is open. there is no closed stitching to keep the strap attached to the pack.Because of this i took mine all off right away because i didn't want to end up losing them somewhere. If you need to go a long distance with this bag its going to be difficult without the support straps. i suppose if you have space you could keep them in the pack and use them as needed. or stitch the end closed so it will not go falling off.I would not suggest using this pack in wet weather. In summaryGood valueLots of spacePoor support straps
