2021 - Sibling Reading Challenge
Truly one of the finer novels in the epic of Drizzt; yet more than a small part of me wishes that Salvatore had introduced true, irrevocable grief into this slight climb of a story arc. Whereas truly great passions come from loss, the last great loss was nigh on 3k pages (9 novels) ago. It is far past time for Salvatore to mature in his expectations for readers and to incorporate more “real world” themes into this mystical realm.+ Magic is wild and unpredictable, yet Salvatore keeps solid boundaries readily apparent. In doing so the magic of the world is made more realistic and less of a writers miracle cure.+ Battle scenes are epic and well written. Salvatore has clearly learned from experience; no longer do I feel drained from reading about extended and varied conflicts.- Drizzt’s “lessons learned” are unrealistic compared to what was learned previously. There doesn’t always have to be personal growth. Growth can come simply by recognizing the same lesson already learned. It’s called maturity. Some even call it wisdom.

Ahoy and other such
I enjoyed this book, but I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't such a landlubber. Before you read this book, either become intimately familiar with all the parts of a wooden sail and rope type ship, or just read it with a diagram of a schooner or something nearby.Otherwise I enjoyed the book, a lot happened in it, and I'm a sucker for some of the narration choices it made.

A book for any person regardless of age gender or stature.
I give this book the same I've given all of the legends a 5 star rating for the pure emotions that are imprinted upon me when I read about Drizzt and all the companions of the hall. In these books in able to escape reality to live a part of myself that could never be realized in real life. These books aren't just a temporary relief from the struggles of life there a way for myself to express the inner parts of my being R.A. Manages to permeate the spines of his books to enter the reader and give everyone a character to relate to whether your a protective father who sacrifices everything for his loved ones bruenor battlehammer, or a person who by birth and family feel obligated to a path in life you don't want and must escape Drizzt or a quite guy who feels like he doesn't hold up in comparison to others Regis. And by doing this he alleviates your fears of striving to achieve better by taking you albeit subconiuosly through the very trials you feel yourself in a different setting. I give not only this book but the author himself 5 stars!

Amazing reunions
***SPOILERS***I love this book. I know there are some negative reviews out there, but the moments in which Cadderly and Drizzt met up were some of the best in the series to date. I am rereading these amazing books from my youth, and I knocked this book out in four days because of the amazing side characters. Captain Duddermont was great, but nothing topped Salvatore's two protaginist from separate series uniting.Ultimately brining Wulfgar back was a mistake, but if the plan was to bring him back, I feel like Salvatore should have pushed Drizzt and Catti-brie's relationship further. Despite that hindrance, I still give the book 5-stars because I loved both the pirate adventures and the Cadderly/Drizzt reunion.
