The Final Word on the Classic Cord 810 - 812:
This is a coffee table book "with chops" with not just great pictures but with technical details galore covering every facet of the design and developement. Some might find the mass of information on the Cord's technical detalis turgid / dry reading but I found that these portions of the book fascinating, extremely interesting and readable in the way the author presented them. The two dominant personalities that made the Cord 810 - 812 models possible - E.L. Cord a visionary dynamic entrenpenur and the creator of it's classic design Gordon Buehrig and their contributions / insights are highlighted concisely by the author. However he also gives space and credit to the numerous executives, designers and engineers whose tenancity and genius made this classic automobile possible. That a realitively small, financialy strapped company strugglimg to keep alive during the depression 1930s could come up with this revolutionary front wheel drive and body design and find the technical and financial resources to produce it is described in detail and it is a remarkable story - well told. That being said the author shows that - the Cord 810 - 812 was pushed into production well before all the "bugs" in its design could be eraticated and {in some cases } even identified. One wonders how much better the qualitiy of the production vehicles would have been had the Cord corporation had more time and resources to allocate before rushing into production - the company was on its "last legs" so perhaps this was inevitable. The last chapters concerning the demise of the company in 1937, the subsequent salvaging of the stock of spare parts , the reserrection of this grande marque along with the Auburn and Dusenberg with the formation of the Auburn Cord and Dusenberg {ACD} owners club are a nice coda to the book in addition to the several interesting and informative appendix. AND the numerous color photos showcasing these gorgeous vehicles are just what you would expect to find in such a high quality publication. This book is a superb in every way, it is high quality tome and { in my opinion} is very reasonably priced on the amazon website. I give it a 5 star rating - Highly Recommended. .

The Cord 810-812 History in print
I have been in love with this car, for a very long time, have seen a real one twice(both times the same car)I guess in the USA these things are pretty rare, here in Australia, they are non existent.Josh B Malks, has for me, done a wonderfull job of bringing this cars history, too life, the quality of the pictures, and illustrations, throughout, are of the highest standard, the fact that the book is Leather bound, in the same colour used by A.C.D. and is headed in the same style, as the factory publications, and manuals, just brings that little bit more to the look and feel.If you are a fan of these cars, then by buying this book, you will not be disappointed. This is the most money I have ever spent on a car book, and it is worth, to me, every cent that I spent, Josh B Malks, thank you.

A fantastic book about a fantastic car.
I have been in love with the Cord 810 and 812 every since I first saw one. I was fortunate enough to meet several of the people who made this car happen and who loved and cherished it the rest of their lives. Josh Malks has been fortunate enough to own them and has been involved with the club for much of his life. He has done an excellent job of gathering facts and writing the history with his three books. I am fortunate to own each of the books. Each book tells part of the fascinating story.

Short review of a delightful book
Fantastic photography, lots of it. Completed cars and components. Patent drawings, concept drawings and models, and even more interesting, the design process through those sketches, drawings and models. History and stories; trials and tribulations of owners, drivers, the company and its successors. Not an overpriced coffee table book with text cribbed from wikipedia, but a large, strongly made, well written and carefully laid out reference book in an Art Deco slipcase. Well worth the time to read and re-read.

THE CORD
Wonderful book covering the Cord automobile full of beautiful illustrations, old ads, color reproductions, as well as stills of current Cords that are owned by people that can afford such vehicles; for which I am very happy for because without such people these beautiful automobiles would not exist for the average person to see. The information given about each vehicle well be interesting to anyone that appreciates automobiles.

Cord 810/12 History
Over the years I have collected a number of books related to the Cord Corporation and it's automotive products Auburn, Cord and Duesenberg and a few related to the Cord 810/12 models of 1936 and 1937. I'm familiar with the author and with some of the contributors to this latest volume and it is without question the finest work to date dealing with the model 810/12 Cords.
