Great sound! Tap mount perfectly to capture the toe click sound.
I purchased 2 of these for my kiddos. The sizes fit true to size. New tappers should have a well fitted shoe. You don't want a shoe that is too loose especially if you are training young "hoofers". I think it's important even for a new "Broadway tappers". I typically have purchased the shoe and then taken it to a specialty store to double the heel and taps but I wasn't able to do this due to non-essential businesses shutting down during COVID. Any way I purchased shoes from Australia that were supposed to be really good. When they arrived the were terrible. I purchased some Jason Samuel Smith shoes for myself and these for the kids. These work comparable to mine. The big test is the toe click. This an important sound that you can lose if the tap isn't put on properly. Both of my children were able to lean back on their heels and raise the the balls of their feet and click their toes to make a strong sound without me being out of a lot on money getting them done professionally. Their feet grow like weeds. Since I don't them to have tap shoes that are 1 size larger, like their tennis shoes, I will continue purchase these for them.

Order a size or two larger than tennis shoe
My son normally wears a 5 to 5.5 in tennis shoes. I ordered a 6.5 because most people are saying they run small. I was nervous to get such a large size. Glad i did. Although, I think he could have fit a 6 perfectly though. These are slightly loose. He has to wear thicker socks. Tap shoes are supposed to fit right on or slightly tight according to web articles.

Good Tap Shoe for a child
Got these for a child and they lasted the whole dance season. They were comfortable and fit sizing wise similar to same size shoe a child normally wears. The heal is a little bit higher than some other tap shoes, but it is balanced so not like walking in a high heal shoe, but the entire shoe is higher off the ground than other tap shoes. It didn't bother the child though. Good price for the shoe too.

Why did you put a sticker on the tap!!!!
The tap shoes are very comfortable for my son, he loves them and these are his 2nd pair of the same brand. My ONLY issue is they put the size sticker directly on the heal of the tap!!! Why would someone be so dumb to do that? Put the sticker on the insole or anywhere else that isn't integral for the purpose of the item. It was incredibly tricky to remove and it could have ruined the tap!

High Heel
These are great starter tap shoes when you don’t want to pay too much. But be aware that the heel is quite high. If you told me that they were theater or Irish dance shoes, I would believe it.

Taller heel, pinched foot
Bought for my 6 year old, who had outgrown his previous tap shoes. The heel on these shoes is a bit taller than normal. My son asked to return them because they punched the top of his foot, and the smoke is very stiff, he’s used to having a stiff sole that you can flex a little bit like his dance instructors. Returned the shoes and picked up a pair just like his old ones instead.

Horrible tap shoe...heel too high for children
Not worth it...my child is a beginner. I visited her class, even the teacher's tap shoe heel was not as high as this one. I had to purchase my daughter another pair. Stay away from these shoes.....not good for kids my daughter hurt herself practicing in these.

Half The Cost, Good Quality
These were more than half the cost of tap shoes for boys so I went for it. He doesn't complain about the fit so that seems to be okay. After a few months of wear they are still holding up! I may get a full dance year out of these shoes if he doesn't grow much (yeah right)
