Looks good in the photos and does not disappoint.
There is a distinct whiff of quality around the Morphy Richards Evoke 162522 Filter Coffee Machine. It really feels like someone has put some effort into designing it. It is so! nice, in fact, that mine is not hidden away in the kitchen, but is on top of the Living Room drinks cabinet. When I first unpacked it, the carafe was smaller than I was expecting. But when you come to fill the water tank, you realise it is a bit of an optical illusion, because the water tank will hold almost an entire BRITA Marella XL water filter jug, and those things are 3.5 litres! It is quite impressive that a tank that size is hidden so well. The dual water gauges mean you can place the machine wherever you want and still be able to see the fill level. The lid is much heavier than cheap machines, as it incorporates a showerhead drip system, that really does make a difference in getting the hot water through the entire coffee basket. The permanent filter is oval, rather than triangular, which again helps the water percolation. The brew strength control knob is another feature that emphasises the quality feel of the machine. The knob does not feel loose or wobbly, and moves silently between selections with a satisfyingly positive rest at each of the three options. The indicator light glows a dull cherry red while the machine is brewing, changing to blue, when the machine has switched over to the 30 minute 'keep warm' feature. This machine also has a feature that I still cannot quite believe. It has an anti-drip mechanism, that is! actually anti-drip. You remove the carafe and do not get the annoying couple of drips onto the hotplate, that so many other machines seem to suffer from. Even the carafe has been properly designed. Unlike cheap machines that just funnel the coffee through a hole in the carafe lid, the Evoke has a tube from the lid, down to the base of the carafe. I was not sure what that was for, but once I started using the machine, I realised that it stops the coffee from splashing up the sides of the carafe, drying and causing brown water marks. The last few features are in the base. The controls are so easy to understand, that I don't know why other manufacturers have to make their machines so complicated. You set the time by just using the hour and minute buttons. The morning brew start is just 'Program', set time and 'Program' to confirm. The express coffee feature, for smaller quantities, overrides the strength selector and basically gives you a coffee at brew strength 1. But, again, why don't other manufacturers do this; if you have started the machine on the normal brew setting, with the strongest strength selected, you can just brew a single cup, then press the on/off button again, and the machine will cancel the brewing process and reset. Perfect! You will need to read the instructions carefully regarding the self-cleaning feature. But basically the machine will heat and percolate cleaning solution through itself. The idea being that the machine will push through a small quantity of descaling solution, give it time to work, then repeat the process until the water tank is empty. The process takes about 40 minutes. The warranty is two years. The only thing I would caution you about is the short power cord. It is only 50cm.

great coffee machine at super price.
This is a great coffee maker. At the moment I am keeping it on one side till my current coffee machine is either worn out or packs in. (the one I have now is similar but doesn't keep the coffee hot for long enough but is still in good working order). I bought this as it matches the accessories in my kitchen, and had a good write up. Will have to tell more once I have it in use,

Bad seller
It looked very nice and worked fine, but just didn't get hot enough for us so we decided to return it. However, this is not sent directly from Amazon. A week after it had been received back by the seller I contacted them about my refund, they confirmed that it had been received on 1st March and said there were having issues with their refund process and the refund would be issued ASAP. A week later I contacted them again and got no response. I contacted them again on 17th March and go no response so today I have had to go directly to Amazon, where a refund was issued immediately. Thankyou Amazon. In short, if you don't like your coffee to be not too hot, this is an easy to use and good looking machine. However, if you're in any doubt that you may need to return it, do not buy from this seller (hence only 1 star)

GREAT LITTLE COFFEE MACHINE
Smart looking and very efficient coffee machine, which does not seem to use as much filter coffee as our previous one. May have something to do with the "strength" setting which I have not seen on other machines, and which we have turned to maximum. Can't fault the machine itself, but would just point out one thing - It states that the jug holds sufficient coffee for 10 cups, which must be very small as we get three decent sized mugs from an 8 cup setting. Not complaining at all as it is just perfect for our needs. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Looks good, but not good for small quantities
Based on looks, this coffee maker would get a 5/5 rating - however, it is not very useful when it comes to making smaller quantities of coffee for two reasons: 1) it doesn't make good coffee unless you fill it up at least to 6 cups (which is equivalent to 3 mugs in real life). It does have a 1-4 cups function but it doesn't make any difference with the brewing method - if you don't have at least 6 cups of water to filter through, parts of the ground coffee will stay dry and your coffee will be weak and tepid. 2) it doesn't keep the coffee hot enough for long enough. It shuts off after 30 minutes and whatever you didn't drink in that time gets wasted. There's no way to override this function, and because you have to make more than you need in the first place, it's a double whammy! Also if you add milk, you'll have to preheat your milk because cold milk will cool your coffee too much. I would also recommend warming up the glass container with boiling hot water before starting the brewing process, and also the cups to make sure the coffee stays hot enough for longer. Because of all this hassle, we tend to only use it at weekends - it's not really functional for everyday use. When I get it right though it makes decent filtered coffee and it's a nice change from the instant coffee that we tend to drink on weekdays.

Makes a supet cup of coffee
What’s not to like about this! Sits comfortably on worktop not taking up too much space, takes minutes to filter, looks very stylish and makes a good cup if coffee,
