... and believe me he has surprised me with his great sence of writing
This is the first book of Carl Hiaasen that I have ever read and believe me he has surprised me with his great sence of writing. The book is a serious story but with great sence of humour. Loved it.

Less Hectic, No Less Funny
Skinny Dip is less hectic than some of Hiaasen's novels but no less worth reading for that. Still funny, absurd, well-paced, great characters.Joey (Mrs Perrone) is pushed off a cruise ship by husband Chaz. On a trip to celebrate their wedding anniversary. She collides with a sixty pound bale of marijuana (tis is Florida remember), gets rescued and so lives. But she knows she can't prove attempted murder so decides to mess with Chaz's sleazy mind.Chaz, who thought he was protecting his own corruption and complicity in dumping toxic waste, gets rattled. Joey and sundry friends escalate the pressure. The bad guys can't handle it and things slip out of their control.Another nice group of villains (Carl Hiaasen draws them so well) and as ever, a grand denouement.Excellent stuff.
