It's big, it's well built, and it works!
I've been getting into Texas BBQ and been bragging to my brother in Canada. And he has been begging me to show him. So I decided to bring my own meat since briskets are hard to find and other meats usually way more expensive in Canada. I buy mine in bulk and I had already everything I needed, thus needing a big cooler! We bought this Driftsun 110Qt cooler by default. The Yeti I wanted was back order. The other brands I knew were back order as well. And my trip was approaching quickly and I needed a cooler! My wife did some research and found the Driftsun so we ordered it.I pre-cooled the Driftsun by bringing it into the house 2 days before the trip. The night before, I put two bags of ice in the cooler. The morning of the trip, I moved the cooler into the truck and started packing:1 frozen 15 lbs full packer brisket1 unfrozen 14 lbs full packer brisket2 frozen beef tenderloins8 frozen short beef ribs (you know the brontosaurus looking kind!)4 frozen pork rib slabs4 packs of frozen wingsI added ice as I was packing and topped it off with more ice. I didn't count how many bags. I think overall I added 6 or 7 10lbs bags. I also placed 3 temp probes to monitor the temperature. Then I closed the lid, never to reopen until I reached destination.During the trip, the temperature on the 3 probes stayed steady at 28, 29 and 31 degrees. I left at 9am Saturday, arrived at 23:00 Sunday, left the cooler in the vehicle overnight when I arrived. We opened the cooler on Monday around noon. So so roughly 50 hours after I left. When we opened the lid this is what I found. The top ice was still covering the meat. It had seized into more of a block of ice. We literally had to take a hammer to chisel at it. Needless to say that everything was still frozen solid. And I had to use the hammer to keep chiseling and prying the meat out. Not an once of water in the cooler. And remember the unfrozen 14lbs brisket? Well, it froze!!! Came out frozen just like I took it out of my deep freezer. After it was emptied, I left all the ice in the cooler and kept the cooler in my vehicle. On Tuesday I looked inside; there was still no water in the cooler. On Wednesday morning I started to hear some water as I drove around. Not much. On Thursday evening I opened the cooler. It was still loaded with plenty of ice but with lots of water as well. If there were still food in there, it would be totally safe. Today is Friday, I have not looked but I expect more of the ice to be gone. The cooler will be useful on the trip back as well. It will be loaded Canadian favorites!I hope this review will help some make their decision...

Being asked about durability - can’t really rate that after one day! Seems sturdy and solid.

Great Investment!
It took us a lot to drop so much money on an ice chest..it took having to drive to find stores while camping to fill cheap ice chests with ice 1-2x a day so our stuff would stay cold. I finally did the research and knew we needed to invest in a better ice chest. We were looking at yeti but it would have been the same cost as this ice chest and only half the size of it. The reviews seemed good so we gave this one a shot and we will never buy a cheap ice chest again! This ice chest is amazing. Went camping for 3 days and didn’t need to buy ice once. We are so happy with it! There were some not so happy reviews about the handle for this ice chest..we actually love it and the fact that we can roll ours easily to where it needs to go. It does get heavy when filled so this was an awesome add on for us. We had no problems lifting it into the back of the car or out, it just took one of us on each side and then we rolled it when it was out. Awesome investment!

Keeps cold compresses cold but the box is super heavy and smaller than it looks
I purchased this cooler to keep cold compresses (cold packs) cold for medical use during sports tournaments. I pre-freeze the cool compresses and then put them in the cooler in the morning of the tournament. The cool compresses remain cold for the entire duration of the tournament (8 to 12 hours) and even for a couple of days afterwards! The downside is that the cooler is super expensive and super heavy for its size. Because it is so well insulated, the inside holding capacity is actually quite small compared to the size of the box. To be fair, it is like you are lugging around a cordless, battery-less, power-less mini refrigerator!

Just as good if not better than a Yeti
I purchased this cooler for a recent boar hunting trip and I must say, it is a great cooler. I originally wanted to buy a Yeti since they are supposedly the best but they seemed overpriced. The Driftsun cooler had all the same features for $200 less. I'm glad I bought the Driftsun. The cooler itself is built very sturdy and I can see it outlasting me. Plus, the wheels are much appreciated, especially when the cooler is fully loaded. I was slightly concerned about the nylon handles, but they worked remarkably well and are definintely up to the task of pulling a heavy load in the cooler. Remember, the cooler can be well over 100 pounds if you stock it to the top. After returning from my last trip, I wanted to see how long the ice would last when I got home. I still had 90% of ice left after 5 days! I also used the cooler for a big party in the backyard and the ice lasted about 3 days in 85 degree weather. I highly recommend this cooler. You won't be disappointed.

Reliable and Tightly Sealed
I used this to keep my food frozen while traveling from FL to MA. I used 2 large bags of ice on the bottom 24 hours before leaving and we’re still frozen when I started to load it. I alternately layered my frozen food and large frozen ice packs until full, the trip was 2 days driving. When I arrived it took 1 day to start up the refrigerator until the freezer was cold enough, the top ice packs were thawed but the food was still frozen underneath. I left the ice bags in the chest in the car for 2 more days and they had finally thawed after 6 days. This ice chest has an extremely tight seal especially when there is some water along with the ice in there, it creates a tight vacuum seal.Very happy with my purchase and will get great use out of it especially when camping. I highly recommend!

I haven’t used it yet but it appears to be very well built and I hope it will keep ice for 7 days.... the length of our trip in August.
