Raccoon On The Moon. Phonic Readers (Phonics Readers)

We love this book. It has a nice pace and story. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the only female character is the mean goose. The racoon or one of the moon characters could easily have been female.

Cartoon-ish animals are a unique feature of this colorful, moon travel book. The bleed-off-the page artwork is kid friendly for the youngest picture book crowd. Hearing the story read aloud one time will enable the youngest readers to catch the rhythm so they can enjoy it on their own.-Hope Irvin Marston, author of MY LITTLE BOOK OF PAINTED TURTLES.

Deducting one star as the binding was poor, but I corrected that myself. The book itself is delightful. My 5 yo loves it!

Couldn't remember how many times i have read this with my son. He loves it so much! We always do countdown whenever the rocket launches :)

Good for the kids who knows to learn

We originally had the Usborne Phonics readers (the boxed set) and my son was ready for the next step but not quite ready for the "big" books... this book has longer sentences with some rhyming and other sounds that are a little more challenging. My son loves this book and I love it because it gives him just the right amount of challenges. Perfect for the in between reader.
