PRO Swingball – All Surface Portable Tether Tennis Set – Ages 6+ Blue/Yellow, One Size

The media could not be loaded.  since we are all quarantine, and my son can't do tennis lessons, i decided to get this so we can play outside. He loves it!! Super easy to put together. Love the paddle handles it has, so we don't lose them. I put water in it, in my back yard, and sooooooo easy to travel with. This weekend we went to the beach, and we brought it. Filled it with sand, and it was perfect. We were the envy of the beach. all the parents with kids kept coming up to us to ask us where we got it.. they also wanted to play with my son, lol but i had to say no, and keep their distance. :( Even some older kids came around to ask. It was too much fun. I think my son loved it more on the beach, so he could dive and fall on the sand. Love love it.

This has been a great product to keep me and my kids engaged, outside and entertained. Even some neighborhood kids came by to play as it allows for current social distancing practices.My concern with this is that the bottom, the foundation is not very sturdy. The clips and the base are plastic, so it doesn't secure the poll very well. The plastic clips come off very easily and can be easily lost if not put away carefully and without those, the game is worthless.The price doesn't really reflect the product. ....very pricey for a product that is somewhat flimsy at the bottom.I paid what I paid because of current shelter in place mandates and the desperate need to entertain my kids!

Fun for all ages, can be played alone or with partner(s). I also like that the tennis ball and string can be removed. I bring it in to keep it out of the rain. This equipment is easy to set up and I sometimes move it to shady spots in the yard. One ding is the plastic buckles that attach the bottom of the base to the top of the base are difficult to fasten and pop off. I'm glad I didn't cut the plastic loops that attach the buckles to the unit. I had an extra weighted patio umbrella base and use that instead of the snap box base.

Found the swingball in a specialty toy store. Of course I used my Amazon app to price check and got a better deal instantly.Swingball is a hybrid tether ball/ Tennis toy. We bought into swingball after a toy store associate suggested. Our son prefers screen time, but has always talked about tether ball and tennis. We wanted an outdoor toy that would encourage him to play outside, get exercise, and help with his hand eye coordination. He suffers from some social anxiety, and most of the time prefers to be solitary. However swingball has encouraged him to invite others to play. We went from encouraging our kids to go outside, to telling them dinners ready 20 times! They don’t want to stop playing.Setup was not bad, at first I had filled with water. We were anticipating freezing temps, so I bought a 50 pound bag of sand and used it instead. Be careful transporting while the base is full. Clips aren’t the strongest, and I have had to re seat one several times. Doesn’t devalue this set at all though!If purchasing for children, go ahead and purchase this pro version. Sturdy and you can join in on the fun!We owe the manufacturer a huge thank you!!!!

This is a really neat outdoor toy. It seems to be pretty well made and the adults love it just as much as the kids. It does for sure need to be weighed down to play. And because of that, we never really use the travel case aspect of it. I just leave it set up in our backyard. I did weigh it down with rocks we had that I put in gallon size storage bags though. That way there’s no mess and they can be taken out easily if we do want to transport it. A teenager unboxed it and put it together without issue so I couldn’t have been too bad.

Fun game and second one I bought. Thought this was somehow more suited for adults so got this to replace my old one that I bought when my kids were younger. It’s the same thing just paddles are thicker and we actually prefer the blue paddled one for my adult children. I suppose these thicker paddles mean you can hit it harder for adults? Stick with the original. It works just as well if not better.

When looking for an outside toy for children, you want a few basic things.First, it must be easy to assemble, which this is, allowing them to quickly start having fun. Just fill the base with water (or sand if you prefer, but water is definitely easier so you can drain it and move to a different location more easily) and snap the rods together and you're ready for action.Second, it must be engaging and support some level of physical activity. And this was a hit on both of those measures! It was fun for any age (9 and 10 years old to adult). You just have to be careful that you don't get hit in the head... as that is easy to have happen. Overall, a great choice.

I had the kids version of this for several years and it finally died. Looked for a new kids version and decided to buy this one instead. I love that the height is much taller and the base is sturdier. Plus, the spiral at the top is longer. Love the racket holder on the pole, too. A great buy. Loved by all members of my family, young and old!

This is the original review from 2 months ago - please read the new bit at the end:**I spent ten years of my childhood playing my Dad and brother at swingball. FF 25 years and I bought this swingball for battling against my own 4 children. I can't recognise half of these hyper-critical reviews; to me it seems like a good product, similar to the one we had 30 years ago but with some improvements (like the extended game spiral, and the quicker way to restart each game by 'opening the loop'). Really, a steal at this price for the many hours of fun.**Gmmmphh The ball flew of the string over 6 weeks...we patched it up but it only lasted another couple of days and then it was no good. A new set of 2 balls and tethers costs almost as much as the original swingball itself. Very disappointed. It's just me playing against a 7 year old and a 9 year old; so much for 'Pro swingball', the one we paid extra for because we wanted it to last. I don't think the ball EVER came off the swingball when I was a child, we used the same one for years and years.

Despite being the apparently more robust 'Pro' model, the ball detached from the string within ten days of being brought into use. Exactly the same fault has occurred within a few days to an identical item bought by my daughter. There is clearly a design fault and it is very disappointing. I would like a replacement ball and string please, preferably to an improved specification.

So took delivery only last night for my youth project for teenagers - we have gone through about 5 regular swing ball sets in the last 2 years due to good use. I have no idea how many replacement balls we have had to buy - Our young people use this about 8-10hrs per week.so likely considered heavy use. The poles snap at the base so looking forward to see how the Swingball Pro performs. It is a better height for teens and adults and appears to have sturdier features. I previously had the cheaper version which served us well until the ball parted company into some trees so I decided to get the upgraded pro version. I'm glad I did particularly for older kids. With the pro, the ball swings more freely, it has more travel up and down meaning longer games and the base is larger so the whole thing is more sturdy because of the extra weight of sand or water in the base. This does mean that it's much more difficult to move and put away out of the rain as it is very heavy. Bats are heavier and thicker than the cheaper version too so good for getting more power. If you like to smash the ball hard then the pro's for you but for younger kids the other smaller version is also good. Really fun game that's great for a small garden. Even take it on holiday as it all packs nicely into the box.

Our family play this game in garden and have done for years. Hours and hours of fun to be had. Over the years we have had various models but first time we have had the pro version. Out of the box it is noticeably sturdier and bats have a nice grip handle you don’t get on standard edition, so would say worth the extra. The connections are simple enough and full base of water does the trick well to hold in place. You can shorten the height by removing one of the poles and then there is a little attachment which lets you shorten string for younger players so great for both adults and children. Good purchase and would recommend ..
