THE THUNDERBOLT'S DEVELOPMENT STEP BY STEP
I have been a reader and collector of Squadron Signal publications aircraft profiles and walk arounds since I was a teenager and I recently re-acquired this volume on the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt. Author Lou Drendel does a terrific job with the walk around series and this volume is no exception! This volume is chock full of beautiful color photos of planes and components! Artwork and profiles of 'bolts are superbly rendered by artist Don Greer and illustrator Ernesto Cumpian! The development of the Thunderbolt is revealed step by step in just 80 pages! These profiles are great references for WWII aviation libraries and great resources for model builders! I highly recommend them!

Good, not great
I'll start by saying I'm a fan of the walk around series. For Modelers and Historians they give a unique insight into the subject. This one falls a bit short for the Modeler however. The views of areas of interest such as the cockpit and wheel wells are from limited angles and some of the details aren't explained. That said there a lot for the Historian to love. I'll sing one star for this particular book but I still consider the series to be one of the best.

Great paperback.
Great source of information when working on model airplanes. I have been buying this squadron/signal publications series for some time now and have never been disappointed. So far, all of my paperbacks have been in very good shape.
