What a wondrous book for kids! It's message is priceless, ageless. The execution, perfection. And the illustrations will simply blow you away. You'll be totally charmed by a flamingo named Florence who -- of all things! -- dreams of ice skating. As is often true in life, ones greatest goals/accomplishments at the onset are often ridiculed by friends and associates. When Florence pursues her passion (something we all should do) she's met with anything but encouragement from her fellow flamingos and friends.Hats off to the creator, Tony Pugliese, who conceived, wrote and illustrated "I Wish I Could Ice Skate". I wish I'd written this charmer.Grandpa Pugliese dedicates to the book to his granddaughters, supporting them to follow their dreams. You've got to love it!

Recently, I read " I Wish I Could Ice Skate " to my granddaughter. We were both charmed by "Florence" and her unwaivering determination to ice skate. The illustrations by Tony Pugliese are colorful, zany, and will certainly capture the imagination of children and adults alike. The book encourages dreams and desires. It is one of lifes lessons, easily explainable to children by way of pictures, and a delightful story.

I recently purchased this charming book about a very determined young flamingo named Florence. Florence learns to ice-skate even though she is met with negativity. Her Grandfather gives her the encouragement to never give up, an important message for kids to learn. I am looking forward to reading this book to my four and six year old Grandchildren. The illustrations are amazing!

Just finished reading "I Wish I Could Ice Skate" to my two grandchildren for the third time. Why? Because they LOVE it and insist on hearing it "one more time'.
