SAKURASumoGrip Pencil with Comfort Grip - 0.5 mm Ergonomic Mechanical Pencil - Clear Blue

When my last pencil died I had thought to go to your local large box store to replace it, but no! They only had the small skinny pencils for sale! It was already devastating enough that I had been required to part with my pencil of 5+ years, never mind that I couldn't find one larger pencil!I cannot describe my relief at finding the Sakura SumoGrip pencil. It fits in my hand well and is quite comfortable to write with. I usually have hand pain when I write with smaller pencils but this one allows me to write for quite some time without facing fatigue and pain. I do a lot of writing and note-taking (aspiring teacher here). The color has grown on me too and being so bright I haven't lost it yet!Definitely worth the money and will be buying it again!

I like the size of the pen because it's larger and easier to hold. The retractable erase is also a good size and I believe you can buy replacement erasers. The lead is nicer than the ordinary lead for mechanical pencils. However, Sumogrip pencil lead refills are not available. The .05 is a blue pen while the .07 is black which makes is easy to tell the difference.

This is my absolute favorite mechanical pencil.I like to use 0.5mm lead, and usually run into the problem that the pencils I use are tiny and my hand starts cramping up after using the pencil for a while. With this pencil, because it is so large, it is comfortable to use, especially with the hand grip and tapered metal piece at the end. It might be the only pencil I've used where my hand doesn't get tired of using it for hours on end.I've never had any problems with the amount of lead that it pushes forward, and the metal sleeve at the tip allows you to keep writing as the lead wears down.The end is easy to remove to refill the leads. It holds a good amount of lead though, and so I don't need to refill the leads that often, probably about every 4 months. It also carries a lot of eraser, which is why I bought it. I like not having to carry around both a pencil and an eraser. The eraser that they give you is a pretty high-quality one and takes me about 6 months to run through. This pencil also works with Pentel eraser refills, so it's not super expensive to refill.My one problem with it is that it is made of plastic and so it will eventually break. I used my first one for about two years before I got a crack up the side of the pencil that eventually broke it. I liked it so much though, that I bought another one and have been using the new one for about a year now without problems.I would highly recommend this pencil to anyone, and I will keep buying replacements as mine break for as long as they make them.

I really like this sumo mechanical pencil. It's solid it's sturdy and it works great. I make my own quilt designs on graph paper and this is the perfect pencil for that task. I highly recommend it

love this pencil, the smaller ones were digging into my hand as i wrote. though i will say the larger size and lack of pressure that i used to use, has meant my handwriting with this new pencil is a little weird. having to relearn a bit as this pencil feels a bit different to the ones ive been using my whole life. def worth the purchase tho, glad this is where i settled

I have large hands and awkwardly hold pens and pencils, so I always look for ones that are thicker, which are more comfortable for me to use. These are a total game changer, better than any pen or pencil I've ever used. They're comfortable, have a textured grip that my fingers don't slip off of, and are super durable. Five years ago I bought a bunch of these in different lead sizes and colors and still have them all, and they're still working great. I'd say with five years of use that I've gotten my money's worth out of them. Highly recommended; I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

This pencil has the same comfort as the Dr. Grip line of pens and mechanical pencils. However, this pencil has a much better and more useful eraser than a Dr. Grip mechanical pencil. The Dr. Grips make you stop and take off a cap to get to a tiny eraser. This pencil has a nice big eraser that advances on a screw so you can count on it for lots of erasing without having to always stop and use a separate eraser.I eventually get writing fatigue in my hand no matter what pen or pencil I use but this pencil is my most comfortable and and easy-to-use pencil.It would be nice if the lead had a shock absorbing quality like some Pentechs used to incorporate, but those are hard to find in any pencils these days.I like that the metal tip can be retracted. It prevents poking and tearing pockets.

Great comfortable pencil for people who hold them tightly. My hand doesn't hurt anymore.
