I LOVE these hooks!
I have been crocheting for only 5 years, and am still learning. One of my most important lessons, is that a good hook makes all the difference. How long you can crochet in one sitting, how much wear and tear the repetitive action has on your body, your comfort while crocheting...all of these are impacted by the hook! The addi hooks are very comfortable whether you hold your hook like a pencil or a knife, their design fits the hand beautifully.Additionally, the yarn FLIES off the hook; their method of finishing the stainless steel is beyond understanding, and like no other hook I've used. (My one Clover plastic hook is close.) I will admit sometimes the yarn does get away from me when I've picked up my rhythm a bit just due to the finish and how easily the yarn slides on/off the hook.I love the ergonomic plastic handle. I have owned/used these hooks for a few months now, and have seen no discoloration to the plastic from my hand (body oils, sweat, etc). After using some other ergonomic hooks, my hand feels "gross" and I just need to wash it - this has not been an issue with these hooks. My only complaint regarding these hooks, is that they don't come in sizes over an 8.0mm hook. All my chunky/bulky yarn projects are sad that I can't use addi hooks on them. Maybe one day...Understanding the hook is an extension of the crocheter, the one you use is very personal. I would suggest buying one of the addi hooks as a single to make sure you like how they fit in your hand. I tried the 5.5mm as my intro hook, and was wanting the full set within a few minutes of using the hook. I recommend these hooks to all my friends who crochet. They are a true treat.

Handle makes changing hook sizes effortless
Ok I love these hooks, was previously purchasing them 1 hook at a time with 10 hooks left in the set to get, buying the full set was cheaper then buying one at a time. The only negative thing I can say about them is the short shank. I have noticed that Addi has recently started a long shank line, so eventually, once they have a full set listed I might invest in more hooks, but as for now I don’t see much point as these are the most comfortable for me.Changing sizes is so easy on the arthritis in my hands, before I got these I had to wait 2-3 days between hook Size changes as my hands would cramp terribly. With the Addi hooks I can keep crocheting for hours or days without cramping. If I have patterns with a lot of loop carries I can always use a backup hook.

game changer
I was skeptical about the price of these hooks but they are hands down my favorite. I can now stop buying hook sets. Note in the picture how short the shank is. That works for me. As a very newbie crochet-er I struggle with my tension. There's no way for me to vary it with these hooks. But that feels so helpful. I hesitated to buy these. Some of the reviews were so so glowing. But they really are remarkably awesome. If you peek at the other hooks in the pick, you might see what other ones I've tried. I'm not sorry I spent the cash on these. I absolutely love them. From the finish on the metal to the shape and weight of the handle. These are my idea of perfection. My favorite type of crochet is tunesian. These, obviously, are not going to work for any projects in which I want to carry loops. That's alright. That's what Tunesian hooks sets are for. I'm thrilled with these. I wish I hadn't waited as long as I did to buy them.

You get what you pay for!!! In LOVE with these.
I was skeptical at first because of the price, but these are ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!!!! I will be purchasing the steel set next. I hope that they come out with more products. I showed a friend that was not sure about ordering these because she tried the ones with the bigger grip that hurt her hands. These feel natural in your hand. She was sold when she held them. They guarantee their product as well, so its a Win Win either way.Funny side note, when these came to the post office, my husband had to open the box in front of the postal worker because they came from Germany, when she saw them she made a comment on how nice a product they looked too!

Poor quality
I bought 2 Addy swing hooks previously. I decided to get the whole set. The set is not the same quality as the 2 hooks I bought previously. Many of the hooks in the set have a seam that is slightly raised and causes irritation. Also the plastic right below the shaft is not rounded. I'm returning this set and will buy elsewhere.

These replace all my sets! I love them!!!
The first time I used these, my initial thought was disappointment. It felt very strange in my hand, and I had a difficult time crocheting. It felt bulky and cumbersome, but I decided to keep going and give it a chance. After all they cost me a lot, and the ratings were high on these. After giving them a good go I realized that I was trying to force the handle to rest in my hand the wrong way. Once I let my hand and fingers hold the hook in a more natural way, the hook just fell into its own sweet spot, and now it feels like a natural extension of my hand. The way the handle is shaped, it looks like it should rest in your hand and palm a certain way, but it doesn't. My advice is to use them for a while and let the handle fall into place on its own.I love these hooks! Finally I have a set that can replace the numerous other sets that I purchased over the years, in my quest of the perfect hooks. This is it! I will be buying the set with the smaller sizes and be done with it.I do find that because the handles are so much longer then the average set, that my work is in the way, but moving my work forward eliminates that issue very easily.I would definitely recommend these hooks to anyone, whether you have pain or not.

Disappointed
They were very comfortable, but a bunch of hooks in my set were not properly finished. They were rough and bumpy so the yarn snagged. Had to return them.

Best crochet hooks I have ever owned
Was a little worried after reading some of the reviews. Started to crochet again after many years. Have no regrets. Money well spent.

Addi Swing Crochet Hooks Worse than China made crochet hooks.
Been using all kinds of China made crochet hook since I started crocheting and decided to stepped the game. I can same the Addi Swing Crochet Hooks is a waste of money. The quality of my 50cent China made crochet hook s are much better. As you can see from the picture, the shaft of the hook very roughly polished. The one that is very shiny is very good to use. Seems like there is a quality control issues going on internally. And of the set of 13 hooks only 3 is had this type of shine the rest is the same as what you will get from a China made hook. Handle wise will need to get some use to. Not something you can use for speed crocheting.

Practical and Comfortable
Recently, I purchased the 3.75 mm ADDI SWING hook and made a couple of Granny Squares. I immediately went online to order the complete set. Feels great in the hand when held "knife style." Also, the shaft - although short - has no trouble holding 5-7 stitches of worsted weight #4 at the same time (i.e. for clusters and puffs).I highly recommend these hooks. :0)* Note to USA crocheters: The sizing in millimetres is actually a good system to learn. This measurement is simply the diameter of the working part of the shaft. The American "Lettering/Numbering System" is not consistent from one manufacturer to the next whereas the European/Canadian "MM System" is universal.
