An excellent history of the origins of modern day Martinism!
The book, History of Martinism and the F.U.D.O.S.I., is well researched and covers the origin of many of today's Martinist orders. It is also a good historical study of the esoteric climate prevalent in France and Belgium during the time when such fringe Masonic/Martinist groups like the CBCS (Knights Beneficent of the Holy City) and Spiritualist Masonry (Memphis-Misraim) were also founded. The book explains many of the key characters involved in the birth of the Martinist movement within France, Russia, England, Belgium, Germany, and the United States. Some of these individuals include: Martines de Pasqually, Loius Claude de Saint Martin, Jean-Baptiste Willermoz, Gerard Anaclet Vincent Encausse (Papus), Arthur Edward Waite, and Ralph Maxwell Lewis, to name a few.Today, the Martinist Order is one of the worlds highest forms of Christian Mysticismavailable within the Western Mystery Tradition. The degrees are fantastic and can result in the candidate reaching the highest levels of initiation humanely possible while sealing the lips with the humility of silence.Well, enough said, buy this book today. It has my highest recommendation.

Cut and paste
Save your money: the author mostly used the "cut and paste" buttoms and taken as many informations as he could from the O.T.O. Phenomenon website of P. R. Koenig (www.parareligion.ch)and other internet pages of easy access. If you're really interested in the history of Martinism, don't expect to find any deep research in this book, let alone an academic work.

A valuable source
The draw back on this book is the quality of the translation and the format of the headings. They both make it more difficult than it needs be to understand the content, especially for a novice. However, having said that, The amount of relevant information in this book is amazing. A very complete History of this very important movement. This is a must for a researcher or a Martinist. I'm glad I bought it.Dr. Paul A. Calrk , Steward of the Fraternity of the Hidden Light.
