I love this espresso maker!!
Great quality, better than expected based on other reviews I'd read for this product. Performs as expected with easy to follow instructions included. I use this espresso maker on a twig stove when camping. I saw this product used by YouTube sensation Doug Linker. Makes a great strong cup of coffee! The carry case is high quality too as is the stainless steel thermo cup. I'm very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend it to others. Thanks for showing this espresso maker in your videos Doug Linker!!~Greg, Puyallup, Washington

Nice notion, terrible execution
First off my standard method of brewing coffee is a Moka Pot, usually made by Bialetti; the inventors of said device. I've carried moka pots deep into the wilderness to satisfy my craving for this robust brew. The GSI MiniEspresso maker is based on a moka pot but saves weight and space by brewing directly into a mug rather than an upper pot. Seems like a win. Unfortunately while stealing the general design they screwed up the ratio of water to coffee. My Bialetti that holds 8oz of water uses the exact same coffee basket that the 12oz GSI uses- 50% more water same amount of coffee = lousy brew. Also the mug platform is flimsy and fragile, held on only by the plastic/silicone sleeve over the tube. Not to mention that the base of the pot is too narrow to fit two of my three MSR stoves. So Sad. More money wasted searching for the perfect camp coffee

best camp espresso machine I have encountered
I used this with several varieties of coffee. If you are grinding beans, you want a medium grind. It is nice it comes with a carrying case. With Starbucks blonde and Ravensbrew Deadman's reach full to the top of the funnel you get outstanding flavor and robust strength. There is a lower fill line for ristretto lovers. To my surprise Tully's house blend pre-ground is outstanding, it is still locally roasted near Seattle and for a reasonable price makes a subtle and elegant espresso. I would give it 5 stars if it were made in the USA instead of China, and also it is made from a cheaper 18-8 stainless alloy instead of 316 or 304, cobalt is substituted for nickel. That being said, fit, finish and workmanship are impeccable.

5stars, buy it and run through the trail and error.
The media could not be loaded. For camping or home use, this thing is awesome. Yes it splatters, yes it’s to hot to drink right away. Oh well welcome to the best thing you could possibly have out camping. I’ve recommended this to friends and they have purchased it and loved it.

Very well made and came in a nice travel case. It takes me less than 5 minutes to brew a coffee.
Well made. Should last forever.
