HADALABO Gokujyun Hyaluronic Perfect gel 100g/3.5oz (set of 2)

I sing the praises of this moisturizer to anyone who will listen!It’s such a potent, versatile product. The hydration it provides is unparalleled, and it works harder than any multi-step hydration/moisture routine I’ve tried. Suitable for my oily skin as a stand-alone moisturizer day or night- I just adjust the amount I use or follow with a more occlusive layer afterwards depending on what my skin needs...less in summer, more in the dry winter. I started using tretinoin last year and this product saved me from the associated flaking/peeling that is so common!I love that it isn’t overly occlusive/heavy feeling, as long as it’s not over-applied. It only contains dimethicone as an occlusive agent, and not too much of it as far as I can tell. I use between 1/2 a pea to 1 whole pea sized amount (LOL) on damp skin for my whole face and neck, so it takes me about 4 months to finish a jar...more than worth the price IMO. It’s also available in refill packs which is great- I definitely like to limit my use of plastic packaging if I can.Besides the significant hydrating/plumping effect of the product and the fact that it does what a moisturizer needs to do, this product also makes my skin LOOK as healthy as it feels. The finish isn’t greasy, but the bit of squalane gives a little bit of natural luminosity/glow to the skin that I can’t help but enjoy. After it has absorbed my skin feels like skin- no residue, no fake smooth feeling like what you get from moisturizers or makeup primers that are super heavy on silicones.Clearly, I can’t say enough good things about this product. I’m a loyal and unashamed Perfect Gel fangirl! I’ve tried so many moisturizers but this is the ONE. The only possible improvement I could think of would be pump-style packaging, but I don’t mind transferring it from the jar into an empty pump myself- especially if it keeps the price as affordable as it is.

I switched to this from the Hada Labo Tokyo Skin Plumping Gel Creme. I really like that one too, but it was making me breakout at times. I use tretinoin at night and I also think with my skin being more sensitive from the tret exfoliation that the preservative in the Tokyo was making me more irritated than it normally would. So far, this one is checking all the boxes for me! It’s very moisturizing, not heavy, not sticky (when applied to fairly damp skin), layers well. It is pairing nicely with the tretinoin, and my skin is looking great. I feel like you get a lot of product for the price as well. It’s twice the amount of the Tokyo for only a few more dollars. I only have one small complaint and that’s the packaging. I don’t care how it looks necessarily, but I dislike having to twist and twist and twist the lid on and off. You have to twist 6 times to remove and close the lid! It’s annoying me for some reason. I may find a different container to put this in. Other than that, I will buy this as long as they continue to make it. Remember to leave your skin almost wet when you apply. It absorbs better that way without any stickiness.

Great for dry skin

This product is very hydrating, but gentle enough for sensitive skin. Bought for very dry skin, but recommend for any skin type — a little goes a long ways.

Half the price of the Tokyo line and even better imo

Strange consistency? Yes. Odd scent? Sure. The makers of this skincare clearly have one goal in mind and that is to sell a product that works. I've used SO many American hyauluronic acid creams, gels, and serums, but this takes the cake and I am doubly shocked at the value. Every time I use this product, my skin is dewy and *totally plumped*- many of the more stubborn little creases under my eyes disappear- a minor miracle. The gel plays nicely with the rest of my skincare products. I apply it after C serum in am, and after trentinoin at night. No trouble whatsoever topping the gel with my usual sunblock or night cream, and tbh, I am going to try more of this brands products and maybe switch over. Love what it does!

If you have sensitive skin and your skin does not tolerate heavy-occlusive ingredients, products with essential oils, or fragranced skincare, then I recommend trying Hada Labo Perfect gel.A tiny amount goes a long way, as this product has a luxurious slip (application across sections of your face) and the texture of the gel feels light and watery. Though this moisturizing gel feels light and watery, it is very moisturizing in a non-occlusive way. As someone with sensitive skin, I appreciate how gentle this feels on my skin. I love this product and will continue to use it.Just a tiny amount per section (pea-sized) and spread gently or else it will feel tacky. I also apply this gel to DAMP facial skin (after washing) and it just soaks in the extra hydration. 5 stars.
