Orolay Women's Puffer Down Coat Winter Maxi Jacket with Hood

The coat arrived today and although recommended a large for me 5’3” and 135 lbs I ordered the medium and it’s a bit large. It’s very long and will keep my legs warm when walking the dog, the zipper is terrible and when I finally got it zipped I figure it’s just better to step out of it rather than unzip it

I love Orolay brand and have another coat from them as well that is the shorter version of this. I wanted the extra-long one to keep my legs warm. And it does that! Orolay is one of the best brands I've found to keep you warm while not feeling overly heavy. They are also very wind-resistant. I am 5'9" and weigh around 190lbs. I went with the large and it fits me fine. You can see from the photos that the length comes down below my knees.The only complaint I have is the zipper. It is very difficult to get zipped - I don't know if the zipper is cheaply made or I got a bad one but it takes multiple tries for me to get it to "catch". Other than that I love this coat and would highly recommend.

This coat has gotten me through a rough Alaskan winter. Even at -20F, I was much warmer than I was in past years with this coat. It hits at about calf length on me (I’m 5’5) and I got an XS (I’m about 125lbs). It’s still big enough to layer big sweaters underneath comfortably, but doesn’t look too bulky/loose with something thinner underneath either. I don’t use the hood very often, but it’s pretty big so it can go over your head even if you have a hat on under which is nice. It’s very comfortable and I get loads of compliments on it! I’ve never had a coat that I’ve really fell in love with before, but if I did - this would be the one!Originally I bought the coat discounted on Black Friday but the small was far too large for me. I shipped it back and customer Orolay’s customer support was quick to get back to me and get me another coat shipped out, refunding the extra I paid so I’d still get the discount I had originally. They were always really pleasant and quick to respond, so great work there as well!The only downsides I have are that a few months in, some of the feathers are beginning to come out somehow. There are no tears, but they are somehow poking through the fabric. It’s not super noticeable, but I’m worried that eventually it may compromise the warmth of the coat. There are also random threads that show up despite my pretty gentle use of the coat. I mean, I do wear it just about every day but I don’t beat it up at all by any means so it seems a little strange to me that it seems like some thread is unraveling from parts. Again, I don’t notice much difference from it right now but if it continues I’m worried it may become damaged somehow. The zipper is also pretty stubborn at times, leading to me fighting to zip/unzip it fairly often (mostly at the very bottom). I do wish that the pockets had some sort of snaps or zippers as well since while they hold a lot, I worry something may fall out of them.Even with these small inconveniences, I still adore this coat and have recommended it to everyone around me and those who have complimented me on it. I’m very glad to have found and purchased it! I’ll update this review at a later date to add pictures and also to add if anything drastic has changed my opinion on it.TL;DR - great coat, helped me survive harsh Alaskan winter, just has a few construction flaws

So I read the reviews before I bout this and many mentioned the zipper. Let me tell you this zipper is not the right thickness for this jacket. It is one of the most difficult zippers to zip I have ever encountered. When you zip it catches and everything including itself. Literally can not be done quickly takes like two minutes sometimes. With all of the poor zipper reviews I would have thought that they had changed it. I was sadly wrong. Also the sizing is a bit off. I got the largest size they have and It’s really tight in my shoulders. Even when I’m just wearing a long sleeve shirt. Forget being able to move my arms without the fear of busting a seem when I wear a sweater. The arms have a seem on the front and back and you can feel the wind through them sometimes. The hood is nice and deep but the zipper stops at the chest and it’s snaps the rest of the way. The back of the jacket it’s about mid calf in me. The pockets are nice and deep but open. No flap or zipper to close them so the stuff in your pocket will stay dry. Which is important when you have to walk through 25 mph rain with your phone in your pocket. Overall if this is just the jacket to get from house to car and from car to building it’ll be ok but frustrating. Otherwise if you are a walker like me it needs a bit of improvement.

I wish it wasn’t so stiff and I bought the smaller size and there’s still plenty of room. Could have downsized but that’s ok.

I gave this a 4-star because the zipper is awful. It can take me 3-5 minutes trying to get it to catch and then zip up. I read the other reviews about the zipper, but thought it may just be a one off. Nope. It's extremely frustrating and hope the company can fix this because it brings the quality down.I haven't yet worn it in the winter (it's still summmer) but I'm keeping it because once the zipper is up, it is roomy and comfy and going to be perfect for the arena. I decided to keep it and will replace the zipper eventually. If ypu have patience for a bad zipper, this jacket is good quality.I'm 5'7 and 160lbs. I ordered a large and then a medium because large was too big. Medium still has alot of room for a sweater with the ability to move around comfortably.

I love the shape very flattering for a puffer coat. It is true to size. I do wish the hood was removable.
