There is no indication in the description saying that the product requires screws or double-sidded tape. If we had known this, we wouldn't have gotten it for our painted apartment. Also, instructions were not included. I needed to look them up online.Fortunately we found a product intended to protect walls by spreading the force out across a larger area. With those we can get it to stick without screwing it in. But, it does not close on its own the way the description says. The only way it latches without me doing it is if I nearly throw it into place.

I bought two of these, one for my kitchen and one for my den. I find this product to do very well for what I need it to do. It keeps my super calm, very gentle dog separated from my cat. I like some things about this gate, but I think it doesn't fully delivers on what it promises.Pros- Was pretty easy to install.- Looks way better than baby gates I've had in the past- Tall enough my dog (beagle mix) doesn't seem to think he can jump over it- Feels fairly sturdyCons- Getting gate to latch properly on installation took quite a bit of fiddling. I first mounted it too tight it was very hard to open- I think if my dog really tried, he could knock it down (I did not mount with screws)- Auto close only works from about a 45 degree or smaller angle. Hold open is at about 90 degrees so I'm not sure what is happening in between. This is consistent for both gates I bought.I've had them less than a week, so I can't make any determination as to durability.

I've never been happier now that I've purchased this pet gate! I was constantly struggling with the old adjustable kind and now thanks to this gate and its stay open feature it can always stay open and in place in the doorway. It's very easy to lock closed with one hand when you are juggling things and your dogs are too impatient to wait for you to set it down. The locking mechanism isn't going to hold if you have a pet that tries to get out. If my dog rammed into the gate it would open either from the gate or come out of the doorway. Thankfully that has never been an issue. This is a must have for pet owners. It fits my standard size door frame with no additions added. But I like the idea that I could add onto it if I decide to move it.

I actually was impressed with this product, it was as advertised, easy to assemble and works great. We use it as a pet gate, but I do have a four year old whose bed room is right where the gate is and we did not want anything that is loud. It is easy to open and super quiet. It swings both ways, has a nice stay open feature and takes two fingers to open. It was a bit tricky to teach my son but her got it after a few tries. Our other gate was loud and made a clicking noise when opened. Hope this product lasts I open it 10-20x a day.

My 80lb dog ran into this thing in 3rd gear and it didn't budge. Overall it's working as intended. Gate opens easy, swings itself shut (due to the weight) if you don't open it all the way, and keeps the dogs at bay. I hated stepped over the old gate, this one makes it so much easier. Just swing away.

Let’s start with the cons: So the installation wasn’t the easiest. I had some blisters in my fingers by the time I got the hang of it. Since then I have installed 2 gates several times. I just needed to get the hang of it.Now the pros: This gate is amazing! My favorite. I own 2. I love that is shuts automatically! You can hear it close and know that it’s shut. I also love that I can prop it open at the end of the night after the baby goes to sleep. All and all it’s perfect for us.

Nice Gate. I have 3 larger dogs. 60 pounds plus and needed something to keep them contained. I misread the description and forgot to measure. I had to buy an extender which added to the cost. The gate is great and I also had to buy the adapters for a wrought iron gate. After about an hour of figuring out the gate I got it secured. It is a nice gate but after purchasing the adapter and extender I thought it was more than I wanted to spend. Although costly it keeps the dogs from running down the stairs and out the door

We have several of these gates in doorways to keep our pets out, but able to see us or to allow good airflow. Our older (youngest age 5) grandchildren can operate them, play with their small toys with our puppy in sight, but not in the middle of the fun. I love the gates, it has made life so much easier with our puppies. The gate is difficult enough that a toddler and young preschooler would be unable to open, but children are able to do so, with a little instruction.
