Great American Railroad Stories: 75 Years of Trains magazine Paperback – November 18, 2014

This was a Christmas gift for a friend who is a serious collector of model trains and loves all things train. I was trying to find him an inexpensive gift that wouldn't actually be a model train and came across this book. He was ecstatic. He said he loves reading that magazine and to have that many stories from 75 years of the magazine was amazing. It's so nice to find a gift that someone really likes.

as expected & described, I think I have made a good choice but it is a gift so I don't know what its reception will be like or if the stories are interesting (I hope so)

Bought it for my husband and he said he has never seen such a detailed look at train and loves it - he wishes they had one like this for planes.

Pretty good actually. Most are collections from years ago but still entertaining and enjoyable reading

Stories going back to the 1940s when railroads were not run by lawyers and you didn't need an engineering degree to operated trains.

Some chapters are great and others are not so great depending on your interest. Be ready to enjoy most and be ready to skip the others.

Great book with alot of well known authors through the years and all the different things when Steam was king. These are magazine articles written many years ago.

ordered as a gift for a fellow model railroad friend, this book looks like fascinating reading and is in perfect condition!

I have just read parts of it but I liked it very much. If you like railways, you wont be disappointed. At least I wasn't.

Aus 75 Jahren Trains-Geschichte hat der Kalmbach-Verlag 51 Reportagen ausgewählt und überwiegend mit sehr schönen SW-Bildern illustriert.Wer die Zeitschrift Trains kennt, weiss um den hohen journalistischen Anspruch. Sehr gut geschriebene Insider-Berichte, nicht vergleichbar mit deutschen Produkten. Unterhaltsam zu lesen und mit tiefen Einblicken in das amerikanische Eisenbahnwesen gestern und heute !
