On my camera
I bought this lens hood for my Fuji S9400W. It was just as advertized. Thick black matte plastic with a locking ring, dust cap and lanyard. It took a little time to get it to screw on the B&W filter but the threads finally caught and it went right on after that. It does show vignetting at the bottom of the frame with or without the filter. I tried cutting off an 1/8 of the bottom flare but it didn't help much. I have to bump the zoom to make it go away and take it off if i want to use macro.

Not for Fuji HS10
Despite it being 58mm and fitting the Fuji HS10, you will see part of the hood in your shots. I'm assuming this is due to the wide angle lens on the camera; however, even when zoomed in this hood obstructed the outer rim of the shot. Unfortunately, this rendered the item completely useless for me.

Good hood
This is a plastic hood mated with a 58mm ring. It can be adjusted to rotate the shades so that they're in the correct position when it's fully threaded onto your camera. (Adjustments are made before you finish tightening - don't try to spin it once it's on). It comes with a lens cap identical to a standalone 58mm pinch cap sold on Amazon. It's a bit tedious fishing the thread through the cap (you need something like a needle or staple) to get it installed. The hood itself is simple plastic, not rubberized in any way.I have a Canon SX20is with a filter adapter to allow for 58mm attachments. The camera has a wide range from 28mm to 560mm (35mm equiv). On the widest angle I don't get any vignetting until I add a filter. That's the lens at 28mm with my ring adapter plus my polarizer plus the hood before a small amount of vignetting occurs. I can't predict how that might translate to your own camera, but my guess is that unless you're using a very wide lens there likely won't be a problem. You can not add filters beyond the hood as there are no threads to do so. (That would be physically quite difficult even if there were).Overall I'm happy with the design of this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive hood solution.

Bad seller
"I ordered a "Mennon DC-sn 58 Improved Screw Mount 58mm Flower Lens Hood with Cap, Black". When the item arrived it did not have "58 mm center pinch lens cap with leash" as described in the product page and was of a different brand than I ordered. I tried calling their customer service and I got to an answering machine. I'm extremely disappointed."

Great hood!
This hood works well on all of my lenses with 58mm filter threads. Have not noticed any additional vignetting on my APS-H Canon 1D Mark IV. It's a good price, looks nice and is made of sturdy plastic.

Great for the Money
This is a lens that has been made and is from Japan (So you know it must be good). I put it on my Canon t2i and was immediately impressed. It's pretty and does what it needs to do :] it's also 20$ less than a canon hood.

FAIR Review
The other review is unfair and not well thought out. They gave the seller one star, but never held this product in their hand.Personally, I LOVE this hood. It screws in nicely.. the only downfall I can see is that it has to go on your lens after any filter you may be using. This makes changing filters a bit more time consuming. Not a big deal in my situation.I gave it 5 stars for a sharp, easy to install hood. Installed on my Canon ES 50mm f/1.8. (my version is the 52mm version)
