Strong and well-built
Had to use the boot when my horse lost a shoe - was extremely happy that the velcro was strong enough to keep it on his hoof - he didn't lose it even though he wore it for 2 days.

Good starter or emergency boots for the price.
I bought the sz 1 for my 15.1 QH. They fit snug lengthwise, but their round shape is too wide for his narrow hooves. Still, they seem to work fine so far for what I need, which is a temporary fix to keep him comfortable whenever he pulls his shoes off (which he does frequently). I walked and trotted him around in the pasture and over gravel and they stayed on fine. He didn’t have any trouble moving in them and got used to them very quickly. However they did not pass the turn-out test. He managed to pull them off during the night. (I did mention that he is a shoe-puller though, so I’m betting it’s just him and no fault of the shoes.) If you have a horse that doesn’t try to rip things off of their feet the minute you turn your back, these will probably be fine. I’ll put them on whenever I am working with him, and then take them off for turn-out to keep them from getting lost in the pasture. He’s super tender-footed, so at least these will allow me to continue exercising him even when he’s barefoot. I love how easy they are to put on and take off. Time will tell how well they hold up to light use, but they appear to be well made.

Tougher than they look
I didn't expect these to last long, but have been using them off and on for over a year both for turnout and in the stall. Very easy to put on and take off. The horses get them off occasionally, but most of the time they stay put.

not worth the money
What I liked is they are very soft, but for a horse, the materials are pretty flimsy. They are supposed to stretch over the hoof and be good for turn out, but are not... I needed a pair of boots to put on my foundered old horse while I washed his cloud boots and let them dry and give his hooves some time to air out a little. He had these things on for less that 2 hours WITH a bandanged hoof and it still came off, he was NOT running arounds, he's very slow moving around and was in shavings. Don't waste your money, I'd return mine but he got them a little dirty so they won't take them back. If you want to try them, I'll sell mine cheap.

Only intended for stall rest.
These boots are made well, but per manufacturer, they are only intended for stall rest. The manufacturer doesn't reccomend use outdoors.

Great tool for your barn
Easy to apply and perfect for protection over hoof bandages. Will make managing abscesses and sole bruises so much easier.

Measure carefully....don't recommend "sizing up"
I have an old TB mare with an abcess in her front hoof and wanted to keep the wrapping dry and give her a bit of extra support. I ordered the size 3 (not from amazon) as her measurement was just over the size 2 measurements and it was recommended to size up. That one was too large for her and was rotating on her hoof - I had to add a lot of extra padding to keep it from rotating until the size 2 arrived. Ordered the size 2 with prime. Arrived two days later and fits perfectly with her wrapping. If I were using it as a shoe replacement, I would probably try the smaller size for a snug fit, but as I don't have a size 1 to compare, I'm not going to assume it would be the right size.Definitely worth the cost to keep her wrapping Clean as well as provide extra padding for walking. Wish I had purchased sooner.

Great to have on hand!
I have several of these in different sizes. They are great for abscesses, bruises, or if your horse is trimmed to short. This is not a boot for riding in. Its just a slipper type that will protect the foot or hold a bandage in place.
