These are made up of soft material, but you can wipe the service of any spills like you would plastic. It washes well in the nursing home laundry. The length covers my mom's lap completely and it actually falls to her knees (she's 5' 2"), which is exactly what we wanted. The velcro clasp is not excessively sticky or loud, but is secure and easy for my mom to put on herself. Great product and very well thought out!

What's not to love about this really well-designed adult bib? I bought it for my mother-in-law who had a massive stroke that paralyzed her left side. She is having trouble eating and keeping food in her mouth and this bib has been a godsend. It's long so it actually protects not just her front but also her lap, an area most bibs leave unprotected. It's got a large velcro flap closure and she's able now to take it off on her own. It won't be long before she can put it on and take it off without help because it really is designed for one-handed use. It's also washable. A side bonus for my mother-in-law is that it looks something like a cobbler's apron, so it doesn't feel like a bib and is not so embarrassing to wear. Worth every penny. I actually bought a second one so there's always a clean one available.

My wife didn't think they terrycloth bibs looked good on her and was embarrassed by them. These were a good alternative. They could be wiped clean and set to dry and occasionally machine washed. When washing they needed no special treatment except to LINE UP THE VELCRO AND FULLY ATTACH THE WHOLE STRIP. Doing that kept the Velcro in place so it wouldn't cling to other clothing. Washed them right in with my other laundry easily. My wife received many a compliment on her "shirt protectors." They stand up well to many washings. I ordered three so there was always one in use, one in the wash and one ready so I always had a fresh one.

I've had a number of these for a few years and they hold up great. They are durable and easy to clean. However, the velcro is clearly an inferior quality and it loses it's attaching power fairly quickly. I think I'll probably replace that part of it.

I was looking for an extra long bib and this fits the bill nicely. The bib is long enough that we can do things like drape its lower portion onto the top of the adjustable height table we use over the hospital-style bed, so the bib does an even better job of catching any dropped food or catching dribbles from brushing one's teeth in bed. If we expect a little bit of liquid dribbled, we can even flip the bib over and use it with its waterproof back side up, so the dribble can be easily wiped off instead of soaking into the front side fabric.

The reason I bought this is for dish washing. I do not have a dishwasher and somehow whenever I do dishes I get my shirt soaked. So for years I have been using an adult feeding bib for protection and they work great.The last one I owned lasted years but it was awkward to put and wear on due to the design. It held up for a few Washington but then the vinyl backing began to crack. So I duct taped the back. Of course I could no longer wash it...and it got kinda really nasty. But it still worked so I kept it since these can be hard to come by locally.Finally I had to get rid of it and decided to check Amazon and decided upon this one. So glad I did! This is adorable and well made. It should last a long time. I love it.The only problem I noticed was that the Velcro tape was irritating to my neckline. But I discovered it was due to the square cut corners of the Velcro. So I took a scissors and rounded the corners ever so slightly. I no longer notice the problem. If I had, I would still have liked this product and would have found another workaround--maybe removing the Velcro and sewing on a button and hook closure. Thankfully I did not have to bother, I just trimmed the edges of the Velcro a little and that has worked fine.Don't hesitate to buy this product great value for the price.

I ordered this for my 90 year old dad. His last one was terry cloth and stained easily. This one will likely be easier to clean as the fabric appears more durable - heavy cotton - like duck cloth. It is very long and when sitting covers his entire lap. Also the velcro side closure is very large and makes putting on and off easy. My only disappointment is the color. I ordered navy and did not realize the pattern was very small pink and yellow flowers. It is not very flattering for a man. I would have preferred a solid or geometric pattern and was surprised they chose flowers for what is a very unisex product. Due to the low price we will keep and use it anyway.

I am a sloppy eater. I hate to admit but I need a bib when I eat soups or Italian food. This mealtime protector is well made and protects against liquid foods. The bib is easy to fasten and stays put. long enough to protect waist. I am happy with the purchase. The design is female like but I don't really care. I just wanted something that works well and the Duro-Med works very well.

I bought 2 for my husband over 10 years ago. They stand up well, and the cotton front allows wiping fingers and face on it. Superior in function and coverage.

I bought these for my 93 year old father with dementia. Really helps keep food off his clothes which reduces my laundry bills. Nicely made, easy to wash and wipe down.

Bought those for my in-laws. They looove them! Vinyl front and cloth back to wipes easily and machine washable! Product is a bit pricey for what it is..... but works great and is large- covers whole front area!

The neck 'strap' could be a little longer. I have found cheaper on the internet. Is washng and wearing well.
