Wonderful Knife
If you work in a restaurant with snotty rich kids who purchase name brand expensive knives because everyone lose des then they might laugh at a Big Sunny knife. Tell you that it's Lazer etched. What I will tell you is this knife is beautiful, sharp and light weight. Handle is very nice even though I'm not much for the round handles. I've had this knife for almost a year and have yet to need to sharpen it. Just continue to hone it before every use. Cuts through tomatoes with ease and is great for delicate cuts. I have over 40 Chef knives at my disposal and this one gets picked first 80% of the time.

This knife performs as advertised.
This knife has great balance while chopping. The cuts are clean and even, and go right to the board. This allows for cuts of even the hardest vegetables. This also means you don’t have to rock the knife while cutting. It also works on delicate vegetables without sticking or damaging them. The handle is very comfortable and the blade demonstrates superior workmanship. It’s a great tool to add to your collection. I have become a fan of BIGSUN.

Great knife for the money.
I really enjoy using this knife. I cook nearly everyday and use it almost every time I cook. It's held its edge very well and is as comfortable a knife as I've ever used. I'm not sure if it's real demascus or not but in an effort to keep it in good shape I clean it by hand immediately after use and then dry it all the way before putting it away. I can say I've worked as a butcher and I've used the expensive knives and this is a good knife for the price. So far I haven't noticed any discoloration or even wear on the blade. If you're on the fence about it I hope this helps.

Definitely worth it
I had my doubts about this knife. Out of the box it was okay and didn’t feel that sharp. But after 2 days in the kitchen with this Nakiri I absolutely love it. And for some reason the blade is razor sharp now and my left arm is bald lol. I have not sharpened or honed it. It’s worth every bit of $80 and some. I use this more then my Miyabi Kaizen 8” now also it is real Damascus steel and has a lovely pattern

A beautiful piece of kitchen cutlery
This is a great addition to our cutlery. Out of the box, the knife was razor sharp and cut through tough root vegetables and fall squash and made quick work of cabbage for salads. While this isn’t a fine detail knife, that isn’t its intended use.The materials are good looking and I will assume long lasting. This is a great knife to add foe someone who does heavy cutting.

Ok for home use for the price
Definitely not recommended for professionals. The knife arrived With a fairly decent edge, but it does not stay sharp for very long. I’m merely using it at home to cut vegetables on a wood cutting board, yet I need to re-sharpen it after every other use.Be careful while washing the knife. I used the scrubby side of a dish sponge, and it completely scratched the entire blade up.

overall, very pleased with this knife
Took a shot in the dark with this knife. There aren't any product reviews or customer reviews that truly put it to the test. So seeing how it was on the less expensive side I just went for it. I have had this knife for two months and have been putting it to work. I use it every day and cut everything with it. (besides bone and other extremely hard products). Being in the culinary field and having several high end knives I had doubts about this knife. I am very impressed by these factors- sharp right out of the box.- great edge retention. In two months I have only had to sharpen it three times and honed it about five times-handle weight and shape are exactly what i look for-blade weight/ height is awesome. No knuckle drag, well balanced which helps with hand fatigue.-just under 60 bucksNow the Bad- the packaging wasn't adequate enough. Knife was damaged when it arrived. The tip protector was cracked. During shipping it must have been dropped. Tip of knife is bent over. Although it wasn't a major bend in the blade, its still damaged. Did it affect my cut work? no. I would suggest that the company packages them better to prevent this from happening in the future.
