Adrenaline Affects more than you know!!
Everything about this book makes sense. Insightfully written, thoughtfully sequenced and Every bit of this book is Gold! I got to see Dr. Platt in a conference and he summarized the book pretty well. Over abundance of Adrenaline can cause: Colic in babies, ADHD, TMJ, Sleep Disorders, Elevated BP in men, Tinnitus, Migraines, muscle tension, Anxiety. A Simple cure of Progesterone cream can help all of those. Cream works better (I use it) as it absorbs into body via skin. Pills filter through liver and therefore process different.GREAT READ!!

Platt is a genius
The book is a lifesaver. Dr. Platt has put his finger on something that should be well known but is not. The only failing in the book is that he does not fully drive home the importance of avoiding too much protein and opting instead for a diet based around complex carbohydrates. This is because protein leads to norepinephrine, the close ally of adrenaline. Specifically the tyrosine and phenylalanine in protein should be minimized for anyone with this problem. I believe that the crime rate would go down if this became better known. Platt does mention that vegetables should be primary, and they are indeed complex carbs, but at the same time he fails to mention that protein makes this excess-adrenaline problem worse. Another reason for that may be that adrenaline is composed of nitrogen, which is a chief constituent of protein.I follow the recommendations in this book, taking progesterone cream (Ona's is the most potent I have found), eating more regularly before my brain runs out of fuel, and doing a few things Platt does not mention: occasional over-the-counter lithium before bed (I've found ionic liquid held under the tongue a few minutes sublingually the best), and following the whole-foods plant-based diet, which is naturally lower in protein as explained above. That simple regime has turned my life around. This book is one of my "bibles."

Life Changing "cures" to many common health ailments!
Easy to read, common sense theories and observations by a doctor who specializes in helping people feel better by discussing hormonal balancing! Dr Platt is not for treating symptoms, but looking for a root cause. I consider this book a MUST READ for anyone diagnosed or who may have ADHD, high stress jobs or lifestyles, such as caregivers, military families, first responders, etc., especially those with chronic pain, fatigue, mood swings, depression and/or anxiety. I first read his book "The Miracle of Bioidentical Hormones", and my mind was blown! I highly recommend reading that one also, possibly first, since it goes more in depth in educating us about the leading role our hormones play in our bodies. I read both books on Kindle first, then purchased paperback copies of both before I had finished reading the first.I don't give 5 stars generously, but both of his books I foresee referring to often, probably for the rest of my life, and I've already shared my copies with my older immediate family members and recommended his books to friends and extended family. My ADHD mind is bored easily and I rarely finish books in their entirety, but I read these cover to cover, then researched online for all the info I could find on Bioidentical HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy). There's some conflicting info out there, and of course most traditional doctors will scoff at the mention of this topic without even listening or knowing what these books say. But since most doctors, my insurance company, and hospitals have mostly failed my family and me over the years, I eventually opened my mind to "alternative" possibilities, which seem much more like common sense to me, and much safer! I'm finally feeling better than I ever have, and have a renewed sense of hope and excitement for the future, having only been using over the counter bioidentical progesterone cream for about 7 weeks.I wish Dr Platt's books were required reading for all doctors, in all specialties!

For everyone
I have been taking Dr Platt's progesterone product for a while and then I read the preview of Adrenaline Dominance. Convinced I was stuck in a adrenaline cycle i got the book and for me personally I am a tad disappointed, cannot lie. This is a nine chapter book and eight chapters discuss the different systems that are disrupted by increased Adrenaline. I was already familiar with most of this information. Chapter nine gives the benefits of taking progesterone and the appendix outlines a whole food mainly plant based diet which I have been doing for years. So the only actionable thing I personally could take away from this personally was the time of day I take my progesterone. Maybe that is enough and I am being unfair. I am several weeks into this and no difference felt yet, time will tell. That's just my experience and I would encourage everyone to be an advocate for themselves, research and try different modalities over conventional treatments. Applaud Dr Platt for putting this out there and giving us informed choices. Note: the information in this book is for all adults, not just females.
