Are you tromping the PCT in WA? Better not go without this book!!
"THE" best PCT book out there!Asars explains the ins and outs of section hiking the PCT thru Washington. All three of my hiking buddies bought this book so we could literally "be on the same page" when it came to planning our PCT section hikes. The maps and elevation profiles are top-notch! I even took pics of them to always have with me on the trail. Her book shares the best places to stake down the tent, find water (even seasonal water), mileages between places, and even shares various ways to break down the sections into bite-size night trips. Her route descriptions are spot on and although a bit cheezy at times, funny and very engaging. My hiking buddies and I just completed section hiking the PCT thru Washington just yesterday! It took us 7 seasons, 51 days, 500 miles, and 72,725' elevation gain. *** This book was one of the most important items we used in our planning!!!***

Essential Guidebook for the Washington PCT
I bought a Kindle edition of this book to have along on my phone as we section hiked the PCT, read it to plan before the backpacks and each night or morning for the new day. The author lists more campsites and water sources than found on the NatGeo maps or halfmile (the app and maps are sadly no longer available). She also includes info on short side trips to viewpoints or better camping. Great resource for the trail.

Best Section Books out there!
I plan to section hike the PCT in mostly small sections. Previous section books I'd found were called "PCT Section Hiking" but really were if you just wanted to get your feet on the PCT. THIS series of books is more than I could have hoped for and makes it so easy! I had previously spent hours and hours planning small sections, researching where to leave my car, which wilderness, what permits were needed, and on and on. This series (all different authors, but organized the same way, wonderful!) provides all the need to know info, plus very detailed commentary on each segment/leg. So grateful! So good!

WA PCT's best guide book!!
This is a great, well written guide book for the WA PCT. The accurate trail information and scenery descriptions had me reminiscing about the sections I have covered, and excited for this summers sections. If you have wanted to hike this great trail but unsure about the unknowns, this is the only book you need. Buy it!

Good product
Does a good job of describing the hike but helped very little in finding and planning shuttles for section hikes which was something I really needed. I will now have to find the information somewhere else.

Be prepared, get this book!
I love this book! It has great photos and detailed descriptions of the trail, including where to camp and where to get water. Just as important, it has detailed section maps and elevation gains and losses, which helps to determine your itinerary. I am planning to hike Section L to the Canadian Border, so this has all the information I need to plan my trip.

Best PCT Guidebook I have seen
Great guide to Washington sections of PCT. Compared to other PCT guides, this book offers more information and welcomed opinions about campsites and trail conditions. Reviewing Tami Asars' notes on sections that I have hiked, I felt her comments were spot-on. In planning to hike a couple other sections, I will absolutely use this guide for planning segments, campsites and water sources. Thank you, Tami, for all your good work put into this book.
