Dictionary of American Regional English: P-Sk (IV) (Volume IV)

It can be devilish difficult finding all six books of the same edition. I have four of one edition and two of another. For someone like me, that's not an issue. I'm not selling the set.

We now own the entire set. It is an excellent source for anyone interested in the language, especially regionalisms, which enrich the language.

I'm a long-time student of our wonderful language, yet this whole DARE set has new, often delightful information on nearly every page. The research is amazing.

Any one who has taken the time to look at a publication like the "Dictionary of American Regional English" is going to fall in love with the opportunity the book provides to sit down and pore through its pages, devouring - and wondering at - the countless fascinating stories about our nation. The language we speak speaks volumes about us, about our origins, our customs, our values, our habits, and the daily items we are exposed to; when you read the words we use, and see who uses them and how, you come to better appreciate the roots of the words and the speakers as well.
