Reckitt's Blue

Blue Black & White
The fact that Wilkinson's lines precisely pixilated images/ideas on desperate code, like Morse dots and dashes extend into bar code, his poetry is thought in process. He writes long poems, sections that perform over a board stage—high-def cinemascope in width and multidimensional in depth. Themes develop in peripheral focus. With effort the reader understands meaning, and then the meaning subordinates to the method, the how. His vocabulary expands context precluding vernacular. His experimental forms reflect a UK trend—his influence and that of Raworth and others, his studies and his profession experience.Fortunately there are videos of Wilkinson reading his work, and this gives the reader an opportunity to see how energetic and tough his style is. The lyric quality belies cognitive dissonance. Do I know what I am talking about? Can I recommend this book? It is not for readers who dislike challenge yet I find it stimulating, kind of like walking through a junkyard gone to garden. I will continue to read. I will think. I may never completely understand. The book is beautifully designed.
